Summer vacation season is officially here! Half of 2026 has already flown by, and as we hit July and August, travelers are looking for the perfect getaway. When it comes to a coastal escape in South Korea, there is no place quite like Busan.
I recently spent a night at the iconic Paradise Hotel Busan on Haeundae Beach. Here is my honest review, a comparison of the Main and Annex buildings, and a few insider tips on how to score the best booking rates.

Prime Beachfront Location
Paradise Hotel Busan is incredibly easy to find. It is just a quick 10-minute walk (about 0.5 miles) from Exit 5 of Haeundae Subway Station straight down to the beach. Whenever I visited Haeundae in the past, I would look at this property and think, "I have to stay there at least once." Finally, I made it happen!
Guests can use their room card key to easily access the beachside gardens and move between the hotel buildings. To check in, I headed straight to the main lobby.
I opted for a room in the Main Building, and in my opinion, it is a much better choice than the Annex (New Wing). Every room in the Main Building features a private balcony, which makes the space feel open, airy, and far less restrictive. Despite being the older structure, it feels classic and comfortable rather than outdated.
On the other hand, several reviews of the Annex mention that the windows do not open, which can make the rooms feel a bit stuffy unless you run an air purifier constantly.
On-site parking is readily available, and the resort is highly popular with families. Since summer is peak season, weekend reservations for July and August fill up incredibly fast.

After comparing these four platforms, the price differences are quite noticeable. If you want the absolute lowest rates, Agoda is your best bet. If you prefer using Korean booking platforms, NOL offers great local deals.
The Guest Room Experience
After exploring Busan during the day, I checked in around 7:00 PM. The upscale vibe was apparent the moment I stepped into the elevator. When I opened my room door, I was greeted by a breathtaking view of Haeundae Beach stretching right outside the glass.
The room was thoughtfully arranged with a functional work desk and an incredibly cozy sofa. Stepping out onto the private balcony immediately made me feel like I was on a true summer holiday.
Listening to the rhythmic crash of the waves while watching beachgoers play in the surf below was therapeutic. The expansive views of the surrounding cityscape and ocean made it hard to leave the room.
The bathroom was well-designed, featuring a central vanity with separate enclosed stalls for the toilet and shower on either side.
These might be the most luxurious hotel amenities I have ever encountered. I usually bring my own toiletries, but I couldn't resist using their premium Byredo products. The scent was absolutely incredible.
The minibar is fully stocked. While it is not free, the prices are surprisingly reasonable compared to other 5-star properties. Snacks range from ~$1 to ~$2, and a cold can of Coke Zero or Terra beer is only about ~$1. If you are too tired to walk to a convenience store, grab a beer and some peanuts right from your room!
While the rooms are lovely, the hotel itself is packed with activities. From the outdoor ocean pool and fitness center to the Kids Village and BMW Kids Driving Zone, there is plenty of entertainment for both adults and children.
The Outdoor Ocean Pool
The absolute highlight of Paradise Hotel Busan is the outdoor ocean pool, located on the 4th floor of the Annex.

With upbeat music playing in the background, the pool area has a fantastic, lively atmosphere. The pool is divided into four sessions daily to manage crowds.
The pool is about 4 feet (1.2m) deep, making it great for both casual wading and actual swimming. It is a very popular spot, especially during peak summer months.
Because the midday sun can be quite intense, I highly recommend booking Session 4 after dinner. Swimming under the stars is the perfect way to wrap up a day in Busan.
The Fitness Center
I also checked out the fitness center on the 4th floor of the Annex and was genuinely impressed. It is massive and far better equipped than your average hotel gym.
The gym is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. If you like keeping up with your workout routine while traveling, you will absolutely love this space.
My stay at Paradise Hotel Busan was absolutely stellar. True to its 5-star reputation, the resort offers so much on-site that you could easily spend your entire vacation here without ever leaving the property.

The Main Building rooms each have a veranda, allowing for good ventilation and a less stuffy feeling. On the other hand, the Annex rooms have windows that cannot be opened, making ventilation difficult and requiring the air purifier to be running constantly.
The outdoor ocean pool is located on the 4th floor of the Annex and has a depth of 1.2m, which is great for swimming. It operates in four separate sessions from 8:00 AM to 9:50 PM.
The amenities provided are from Byredo, a famous perfume brand. The paid minibar is reasonably priced, with snacks ranging from ~$1 to ~$2, and Zero Cola and Terra beer costing around ~$1.
You can reach the hotel by walking for about 10 minutes from Exit 5 of Haeundae Station towards Haeundae Beach. Check-in time is at 3:00 PM, and check-out time is at 11:00 AM.
