The biggest advantage of the Palais de Chine Hotel in Taipei
is its unbeatable location.
Situated right next to Taipei Main Station, the heart of Taiwan's transportation network,
you can easily walk to the Airport MRT, city MRT lines, intercity trains, and bus terminals.
Especially on rainy days or when the weather is scorching hot,
you can use the underground passage, exit at Y5, turn right, and you're right at the hotel entrance!
When I visited with my children in early May, the weather in Taiwan was incredibly hot and humid.
Having such a comfortable way to get to and from the hotel, regardless of the weather,
made it a top recommendation for families. 👍

The ground floor is for luggage storage and taxi drop-off/pickup,
while check-in takes place at the 6th-floor lobby.
I was immediately impressed by the grand and luxurious ambiance,
featuring European-style decor complemented by subdued lighting.
Deluxe Twin City View Room
Our family of four—two adults, one preschooler, and one early elementary-aged child—
stayed for four nights in a Deluxe Twin City View room.
The room came with two single beds, and we requested a bed guard,
which allowed us to sleep soundly with the kids.
While the room's outlets support both 110V and 220V,
I still recommend bringing a universal travel adapter for convenience.
The bathroom features a separate bathtub, shower stall, toilet, and vanity area,
making it incredibly convenient for a family of four to use simultaneously.
The spacious bathtub was a huge hit, with our kids enjoying a relaxing soak every evening.

Toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided, so you'll need to bring your own
or purchase them from a nearby convenience store.
(A hairdryer is located in the drawer under the sink.)
City View and Sparkling Room
After three trips to Taipei, I've realized that many accommodations here lack windows,
and the room view surprisingly impacts overall trip satisfaction.
Our room at the Palais de Chine Hotel featured two large, angled windows,
offering a refreshing panoramic view of the Taipei cityscape.
My son loved watching the cars and scooters pass by from the window,
enjoying his quiet time both morning and evening. :>
Additionally, each floor has a Sparkling Room,
where you can freely refill mineral sparkling water, room temperature water, and cold water.
Filling our water bottles before heading out each morning helped us save on bottled water expenses, which was incredibly useful.

What I found most satisfying was the ability to order à la carte dishes
freshly prepared using the QR code at each table.
Freshly cooked noodle soups and omelets were delivered directly to our table,
allowing us to enjoy a high-quality meal in comfort.
