Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station Review 2026: Unbeatable Location for Families
Planning a family trip to Fukuoka? The Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station offers an unbeatable location, spacious rooms, and incredible convenience for exploring the city and beyond. Read our full review!

When choosing accommodation in Fukuoka, Japan,
you'd typically pick a place near Tenjin Station or Hakata Station, right?
Among the Fukuoka hotels I recently visited with my kids,
Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station truly had an unbeatable location!
The hotel's condition was also excellent,
making it a Fukuoka hotel I especially recommend to those traveling with children or elderly parents.
Today, I'll cover the **Hakata Station hotel's location, price, and reasons to recommend it**,
along with **our experience using the breakfast with kids**.
(I'll also share **how to get hotel discount coupons!**)
1. Fukuoka Family Travel Hotel Location

Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station is,
as its name suggests, **right in front of Hakata Station**!
**📌 Reasons to recommend Oriental Hakata Station**
****
- 1-minute walk from Hakata Station
- Hotel's ground floor is a meeting point for local tours
- Various rooms available for 3 or 4 guests
- Close to the airport and the airport bus drops you off right outside

If you're traveling with kids, like we were, or with your parents,
location is super important, and this place truly has an **unbeatable location**!
Out of about 10 Fukuoka suburban bus tours I researched,
**9 of them gathered on the hotel's ground floor,**
**right in front of the Lawson convenience store.**
****
The one exception was on the opposite side of Hakata Station, near the bus terminal,
but even that wasn't far.
Waking up, getting ready, taking the elevator down to the ground floor,
and being right at the bus tour meeting point meant we didn't have to
travel far with the kids first thing in the morning – it was an incredibly convenient location!
📍 Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station
4-23 Hakataekichūōgai, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka, 812-0012 Japan
📌 **Check-in is at 3 PM**
**Check-out is at 11 AM**
When I checked in, I was happy to find a Korean staff member,
which made the check-in process super comfortable in Korean.
2. Moderate Twin Room

I stayed in a **Moderate Twin Room with two children, totaling four people**,
and the room size was quite spacious.
After booking, I emailed the hotel in advance
to request bed guards.
I was surprised by how cute the bed guards were, more than I expected,
and thankfully, no one fell off! Haha.

You can get up to two per room, so I installed one on each side,
and I slept on one side as a 'human guard'.
There was also ample space next to the bed, so we had plenty of room even with both a 24-inch
and a 28-inch suitcase open.
If you're traveling with friends, many look for accommodations for three people,
and adding an extra bed would make it perfect!

When I went, Trip.com was the cheapest,
so I booked through Trip.com!
(Also, check if the accommodation tax is included!)

When you open the room door, there's a washbasin,
and the toilet and bathtub were separate within the bathroom.
Having it separate from the washbasin was great for two kids.
I was quite pleased with how surprisingly convenient everything was when getting ready!

Two bottles of mineral water were provided,
and you'll find tea, a coffee maker, a rinsing cup, a hair dryer, toothpaste, and toothbrushes,
cotton swabs, cotton pads, hair ties, shower towels, etc.
all thoughtfully prepared in the room!
Many other Japanese hotels have amenities available for pick-up in the lobby,
but the Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station had all amenities
conveniently ready right in the room!
Only razors and hairbrushes
were the only items you had to request from the lobby.

The hair dryer looked a little basic at first,
and I was a bit worried, but it was surprisingly powerful and dried my hair perfectly!

There wasn't a separate wardrobe inside the room,
but hangers were thoughtfully placed on the wall instead.
A deodorizer was also conveniently provided right next to them!
After indulging in some delicious yakiniku at a local restaurant,
that deodorizer really came in handy!
3. Our Top Hotel Pick for Trios in Fukuoka

It's not uncommon for friends to travel in groups of three,
and since there's ample space for an extra bed,
this hotel is definitely one I'd recommend for a trio!

The welcome lounge is usually located on the 5th floor,
but on the day I visited, it was raining, so
they thoughtfully set it up in the lobby instead.
Depending on the time of day, you can enjoy coffee, soba,
sake, wine, juice, and some simple snacks,
all available for free!
It was quite unique to find sake and soba among the offerings, too! Haha.

On our last day, I also took a peek at the 5th floor lounge area.
While it doesn't boast any spectacular views,
its open and airy feel makes me think it would be wonderful to relax there on a sunny day!

Oh, and if you're traveling with kids, there's an extra treat!
They offered a gacha game where you could win a prize.
Japan, the land of gacha!
You receive a coin, use it to play the gacha machine,
and then get a gift corresponding to the number you drew.
My kids received a fun squishy toy as their prize!

4. Breakfast with the Little Ones: Our Review

📌 Breakfast Hours
7:00 AM ~ 10:30 AM
The Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata
is also known as a fantastic spot for breakfast,
so we made sure to book a room that included breakfast for two.
Children under 36 months eat for free,
while those older can enjoy it by paying an additional fee on site.

Breakfast was available on the second basement floor,
and I was amazed to find all the Fukuoka must-try dishes there:
handmade burgers, Tonkotsu ramen, Tempura Udon,
mentaiko, ochazuke, and so much more!
Personally, I found the curry and scrambled eggs
to be absolutely delicious!
I was genuinely surprised by how perfectly cooked they were.

The kids really enjoyed the udon,
and near the mentaiko, tamagoyaki (rolled omelet), and natto,
you'll find individually packaged seaweed.
I highly recommend trying this seaweed as well!
It's a seasoned Japanese seaweed,
and it has a unique savory umami flavor different from what we typically find in Korea.
The drink selection was also incredibly diverse,
and since they had a fresh orange juice machine that squeezed oranges right on the spot,
I made sure to have fresh orange juice every single day!

On the 5th floor, where the Welcome Lounge is located,
you'll find the coin laundry and fitness center.
The coin laundry was a lifesaver because it allowed for both washing and drying simultaneously,
which was incredibly convenient and a real gem!
There's also an ice maker and a coffee machine in the Welcome Lounge area,
so you can get your iced coffee fix whenever you need it! 👍
On the opposite side of the station, you'll find the Hakata Station Bus Terminal,
which made getting to places like Marine World or Fukuoka Tower (+ Momochi Seaside Park)
incredibly convenient.
✔️ Families traveling to Fukuoka with children
✔️ Those planning bus tours to nearby attractions
✔️ Travelers visiting with their parents
I highly recommend this hotel to all of you!
It's also incredibly convenient to get to from the airport,
and its location is truly unbeatable – the best of the best!
No wonder it's such an incredibly popular hotel.
I almost missed out on a reservation myself; I think I snagged
one of the very last rooms!
Since it's such a popular hotel and fills up fast,
if you have travel plans, I recommend adding it to your itinerary and
checking room availability first.
