The Perfectly Located Orange Hotel
Words & Photos by Global Explorer
If you are planning a Taipei getaway in 2026,
you are probably already hunting for the perfect basecamp.
Every time I plan a trip to Taipei, the same thought crosses my mind:
'Where can I find a spot that is spotlessly clean AND centrally located?'
Because Taiwan has many older, historic buildings,
finding a modern, fresh hotel is surprisingly harder than it sounds.
Today, I am sharing my full review of the Orange Hotel Ximen.
With its unbeatable location and
recently remodeled, ultra-clean interior,
it might just be the best value stay in the city!

For me, a "good location" requires two things:
📌 Travel convenience and easy access to top attractions.
From a traveler's perspective, the one neighborhood
that perfectly nails both is Ximending.
Think of Ximending as the beating heart of Taipei's youth culture.
It is packed with incredible street food, vibrant nightlife,
and fantastic shopping that stays open late.
Even better, almost all the popular day tours
(like those heading to Jiufen and Shifen) depart right from Ximending.
The Orange Hotel we are looking at today
is located right at the main entrance of this bustling district.

After my last trip to Taipei, I promised myself
I would prioritize newer, modernized accommodations
over older, slightly dated ones.
During my research, I discovered that Orange Hotel was recently remodeled,
making the interiors exceptionally clean and fresh.
And honestly, the modern design totally lived up to the hype!

📍 Despite the major upgrades, weekday rates hover around ~$115,
and weekend rates are about ~$154.
Given the stellar location, it was an absolute no-brainer to book.
As a pro-tip, after comparing multiple booking platforms,

Let's dive into the details of our stay
in the Standard Double Room.

The hotel's public areas are split between the 1st floor and the basement (B1).
You check in on the 1st floor,
while B1 serves as an awesome communal lounge where you can
bring in outside food or grab a quick bite.
The best perk? They offer complimentary snacks, fresh fruit, sodas, and coffee!
It was such a welcoming touch.

The room key system here is wonderfully futuristic.
Instead of a plastic card, they send a QR code key
directly to your phone via social apps like Instagram or Line.
Since it's on your phone, you never have to worry about losing it.
Plus, the QR code refreshes every 5 minutes,
which made me feel incredibly secure during our stay.

Because we checked in quite early,
we were lucky enough to snag a room on the 11th floor.
The moment we opened the door, my first thought was:
'Wow, this is spotless.'
From the flooring to the walls, the warm wood-tone interior
showcased the recent renovations beautifully.
The overall cleanliness was top-tier.

Our bed was actually two single beds pushed seamlessly together.
The mattresses were plush enough that we drifted off
the second our heads hit the pillows.
Right above the headboard was a large window,
offering our room a fantastic, unobstructed view.
We could even see the iconic roof of the Ximen Red House!
'This view is seriously good,' I thought to myself.
(Keep in mind, views vary by room.)

While the room isn't massive, the layout is highly efficient.
We had plenty of floor space to keep two large suitcases fully open.

The bathroom features a smart, compartmentalized design.
Lined up near the entrance, you have the shower room, toilet, and sink
all separated into their own distinct parallel spaces.
It's compact, but having everything partitioned is a huge plus when traveling with someone.

One crucial thing to note: aside from towels, shampoo, body wash, and soap,
no other disposable amenities are provided.
You MUST bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste from home.
(This is a recent eco-friendly policy implemented across almost all hotels in Taiwan.)

Finally, one of the best perks of this property
is the complimentary breakfast included with your stay.

You are given vouchers that can be redeemed at three nearby locations:
either Mos Burger or LOUISA Coffee.
The coolest part? Even though it's technically a "breakfast" voucher,
the LOUISA Coffee vouchers are valid through lunch and early evening.
This means you can save them for a mid-afternoon snack run!
We actually used ours around 3:00 PM for an afternoon pick-me-up!

During our recent Taipei adventure, we stayed at three different hotels,
and Orange Hotel was hands down the most satisfying
when it came to location and room quality.
It sits right across from the meeting point for popular day tours,
it's a short walk to the Carrefour Guilin Store for souvenir hauls,
and grabbing late-night street food couldn't be easier.
Despite all these perks, a weekend stay is only about ~$154,
making it an incredible value for your money.

If you are traveling as a couple or with friends,
I cannot recommend this hotel enough!
By the way, I compared several booking sites,

I hope this review helps you secure a clean,
comfortable, and stress-free stay in Taipei!
