During our Bohol trip, we stayed at both Alona Beach and Dumaluan Beach,

but today, I want to share the amazing place we stayed at by the quiet and peaceful Dumaluan Beach!

Let me introduce the cozy spot we chose!

Actually, we were originally planning to book Villa Umi Panglao,

but we made a mistake during booking and ended up at "On Board Panglao"!

Aside from it being a bit older and showing its age,

the location and the overall vibe were absolutely fantastic!

Above all, at around ~$13 per person, it is the ultimate budget-friendly accommodation!

3. Hotel Exterior & Interior

We took a tricycle (tuk-tuk) from Alona Beach

to get to On Board Panglao!

Since the hostel is tucked away in a hidden spot and can be tricky to find,

the host will send you detailed directions via message once you book.

Because the road isn't fully accessible for tricycles,

the driver will drop you off in what looks like an empty field, and you'll have to walk from there.

Since the path to the resort is unpaved,

your luggage will definitely get a bit of a bumpy ride!

So, don't panic if your driver drops you off in the middle of nowhere...!

Though I was initially startled because we booked this place by mistake,

the view was absolutely stunning because it sits right in front of Dumaluan Beach! 🏖️

There are plenty of lounge spots and day beds scattered around,

so you can just lie down and relax anywhere without a care in the world!

It has a very authentic local vibe, so it might not be for everyone.

If you're expecting a luxury resort, you might be disappointed,

but if you're a traveler like me who loves experiencing local-style stays, you'll absolutely love it!

There are actually quite a few cute photo spots scattered around.

So adorable!

Having Dumaluan White Beach right in front of us made everything perfect 🩵

With so few people staying at the hostel,

it truly felt like we had the entire private beach all to ourselves!

4. Room Condition

Since there were 5 of us, we booked a private Family Room villa!

Overall, the room condition had a bit of a rustic, aged feel to it.

There is one bathroom located inside the room.

They don't provide hotel-grade amenities, so I highly recommend bringing your own personal toiletries!

If you're expecting a luxury resort, you might find yourself a bit disappointed.

Rather than a luxury feel, it’s all about that free-spirited, casual beach vibe!

It's very local and eco-friendly,

so you might spot a little lizard friend now and then! 🦎

5. Breakfast

Breakfast is served at the bar lounge,

and it's a simple spread of bread, eggs, and fruit—but it was absolutely delicious!

6. The Bar & Lounge Area

I wondered if we'd get bored since there's not much around, but

having the bar and lounge open in the evening was amazing!

There were lots of international travelers, giving it a total tropical holiday vibe!

With such a wide variety of drinks and beverages available,

our big group tried a bit of everything, and every single drink was a hit!

The food menu was also quite diverse,

and overall, the meals were really delicious!

You can easily grab a full meal right at the bar lounge without having to go far.

There are also some super cute doggies roaming around looking for cuddles! 🐶

The vibe of the bar lounge itself was so wonderful,

and as someone who loves authentic local vibes, it really became one of my favorite memories!

is located on Dumaluan Beach, right on the same shoreline as

the famous Bohol Beach Club (BBC) and Oceanica Resort (formerly South Palms).

It was super easy to walk to them—just a 10-minute stroll along Dumaluan Beach!

We had lunch at the Bohol Beach Club Restaurant

and used the pool with a South Palms Day Use pass!
