Finding The Olive Steakhouse

The journey to this spot is quite unique and adds to its charm! In District 1, amidst gleaming modern buildings, you'll find an older, more local apartment complex. The Olive Steakhouse is tucked away on the second floor of this building.
Look for the sign next to the Breitling watch store. Once you step inside, you'll enter a quaint alleyway filled with small art pieces. Walk straight through, and you'll soon see it!

You'll be greeted by friendly signs featuring delicious steak photos. Although it's on the 'second floor,' you'll actually climb one set of stairs to a cafe, and then ascend another flight to reach the actual restaurant.
The Olive Steakhouse Menu Highlights

Since my heart was set on a burger, I only glanced at the steak menu and focused intently on the burger options.
I ordered the Triple Cheese Burger for ~$10, the Wagyu Steak Burger for ~$12, a side of classic French fries, a Coke (~$2), and a Saigon Special beer (~$2).

This place offers incredible value for their steaks!
Australian Black Angus Ribeye and Striploin:
8.8 oz (250g) for ~$26
10.6 oz (300g) for ~$30
12.3 oz (350g) for ~$35
17.6 oz (500g) for ~$52
They also offer platter sets, perfect for sharing:
Ribeye 10.6 oz (300g) + Striploin 10.6 oz (300g) for ~$59
Ribeye 12.3 oz (350g) + Striploin 12.3 oz (350g) for ~$68
Both platters include two side dishes!
The burgers at The Olive Steakhouse in Ho Chi Minh's District 1 were absolutely delicious, with superb patty quality. I'm already planning my next visit to try their steaks!
Inside The Olive Steakhouse

It's a casual steakhouse with a really cool vibe. I loved the stylish tiles and the unique tile artwork on the walls.
The window seats looked particularly inviting, but alas, they were reserved for other guests! My tip: make a reservation in advance if you want to snag one of those prime window spots.

The interior is long and corridor-like, with several tables. There are even murals of different meat cuts on the walls, adding to the steakhouse ambiance. It feels like a great spot for a romantic date night or a family dinner.
My Order: The Triple Cheese Burger

The Triple Cheese Burger came in at ~$10.
I arrived before the dinner rush, so the female owner was managing everything herself. This meant a bit of a wait, about 30 minutes, but it was well worth it!

First up was the Triple Cheese Burger! This handmade burger features three juicy beef steak patties, cheese, onions, pickles, and their signature house sauce.
Seriously, this burger is beyond delicious! Even if I came for a steak, I'd still order this. It's that good.

Despite having three beef steak patties, it wasn't dry at all. The patties were incredibly tender and juicy, pairing perfectly with the cheese. Each bite felt like enjoying a freshly grilled steak.

A hearty, thick, handmade burger like this calls for a refreshing drink! My companion had a Coke for ~$2, and I opted for a Saigon Special beer for ~$2.
Many Vietnamese restaurants serve lukewarm beer with ice, which dilutes the flavor. But here, they thoughtfully offer chilled beer straight from the fridge! I asked for a regular beer glass without ice, and it was perfectly crisp and cold.
That cold Saigon beer was definitely a thumbs-up!
My Order: Wagyu Steak Burger

Next up was the Wagyu Steak Burger, priced at ~$12.
This burger is crafted with a 4.6 oz (130g) Wagyu steak, onions, cheese, pickles, and their special house sauce.
Unlike a traditional ground beef patty, the Wagyu steak offered a distinct, luxurious texture that truly stood out.

Just look at the Wagyu burger's incredible presentation! It's loaded with rich cheese and tender Wagyu beef, making it look absolutely mouthwatering.
The Olive Steakhouse truly excels at handmade burgers.

As a pepper fanatic, I couldn't resist sprinkling some extra pepper on my last bite of the steak burger – absolutely divine!

After devouring our burgers, we still felt a tiny bit peckish, so we ordered some fries. They were piping hot and perfectly crispy, brought out fresh from the fryer. You just can't beat freshly fried French fries!

Sprinkling a generous amount of pepper on the fries made them even more delicious. They were the perfect savory "dessert" to end our meal!
Next time I visit, I'm definitely going to try the highly-rated steaks and the crab rosé pasta I saw mentioned in Google reviews!

The building itself felt so unique, almost like stepping into a hidden gem in Hong Kong. The Olive Steakhouse in Ho Chi Minh City's District 1 is truly a fantastic steak and burger spot!
