Insider Tips for Discounted Entry & My Honest Review
@ Global Explorer Hery
Welcome back to another exciting travel diary entry from your Global Explorer, Hery! 🌏
During my recent trip to Bohol, Philippines, I had the pleasure of experiencing the Day Pass at what is now known as Oceanica Resort, previously the renowned South Palms.
Since booking an overnight stay at South Palms can be quite pricey, I highly recommend opting for a Day Pass if you simply want to enjoy the resort's incredible facilities without the full accommodation cost.
It's a fantastic value, incredibly photogenic, and offers a serene escape for half a day – perfect for any independent travel itinerary!
Ready to dive into my honest review of using the Day Pass to access the luxurious South Palms resort facilities at an affordable price? Let's go! 🩵
1. What is a Day Pass?
A Day Pass is essentially an admission ticket that allows you to use a resort's facilities for a day without needing an overnight stay.
Even if you're not checking into the resort, you can still enjoy:
✔️ Infinity pools & private beach access
✔️ Sunbeds and shower facilities
✔️ Kayak & paddleboard rentals
And more!
2. Essential Info & Discount Tips
The South Palms Day Pass offers two types:
A Restricted Pass for just beach/pool access, and a Full Access Pass for all facilities.
💵 Admission Fees (as of 2026)
• Restricted Day Pass
Beach/Pool access only
588 PHP (~$10)
• Full Access Day Pass
Access to beach, pool, kayak, paddleboard, and the farm
888 PHP (~$14)
If you plan to spend half a day or a full day enjoying the resort, I highly recommend the Full Access Day Pass, which includes the beach, pool, kayak, paddleboard, and even the resort's farm!
🍯Insider Tip:
You can often book the Full Access Day Pass online in advance for a better price!

During peak season, it can get crowded, and on-site ticketing might be difficult, so I highly recommend booking online in advance!
3. My South Palms Day Pass Experience

Since we had a firefly tour scheduled for the evening, we opted for the Restricted Day Pass, which only allowed us to use the beach and pool.
For beach towels, there's a 500 PHP (~$9) deposit per towel, which you get back when you return the towel.

The pool overlooking the ocean

We quickly found a spot to enjoy the pool with ocean views and the resort's private beach.
The routine of swimming in the pool, then dipping into the ocean, and finally lounging on a sunbed was absolutely perfect. It was great to enjoy both the pool and the sea!
The best part? Being on a private beach meant absolutely no hawkers bothering us! Pure bliss 👍🏻

There's also a pool bar right on the beach, where you can order food and drinks!
We ordered several kinds of cocktails to sip while gazing out at the sea 🍸

Dumaluan Beach is famous for its white sands, and it truly is stunning – so clear and beautiful, distinct from Alona Beach.
The long stretch of white sand was perfect for photos, or simply lying back and watching the waves.
Sipping cocktails and just letting my mind wander while staring at the ocean was the absolute definition of a tropical getaway 🩵🌊

There are communal showers available, so you can rinse off after your swim!
The showers have an open-air ceiling, giving them a unique, almost eco-friendly vibe, which I found quite interesting.
While amenities are usually provided, they can sometimes run out, so I recommend bringing your own toiletries just in case!

I was a bit bummed not to be staying overnight at South Palms, but being able to use the resort's facilities at such a great value made it totally worth it! 🩵
To get access to a 5-star resort's facilities and private beach for roughly ~$12 per person when booking in advance? Honestly, that's an incredible deal!
If you're looking to enjoy a luxurious resort experience without the hefty price tag of an overnight stay, I absolutely highly recommend this Day Pass!
It’s particularly perfect if you have a late flight after checking out of your accommodation, allowing you to relax and enjoy yourself right up until it's time to head to the airport.
For a half-day of relaxation, amazing photo opportunities, and fantastic value, this personally-funded South Palms Day Pass is a must-do.
I hope this review helps you plan your Bohol adventure! 🩵
