Today, I'll be sharing my review of the accommodation I stayed at in Aswan,
the Obelisk Nile Hotel Aswan.
I considered other options like the Movenpick Aswan and Hapi Hotel,
but my experience at the Obelisk Nile Hotel was so fantastic that I really want to recommend it!

Pros | Right on the Nile, with great views. Staff are incredibly friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. |
Cons | Breakfast and dinner quality was a bit underwhelming. Room facilities are a little dated. |
While breakfast and dinner were a bit underwhelming,
thanks to the rooms with panoramic Nile views and the friendly staff,
it was one of the most comfortable accommodations I stayed at during my trip to Egypt.

The standard double room offers a partial view of the Nile.
When booking, if you write in the special requests section,
"We are on our honeymoon and hope for a special experience in Aswan."

While the pool isn't huge,
it's absolutely perfect for unwinding after a long day of exploring.
What's great is that around 5 PM, the sun starts to set, creating welcome shade,
allowing for a leisurely swim away from the intense sun.
The snack bar also offers light snacks and alcoholic beverages,
so go ahead and soak up the relaxation while you swim!!

4. Restaurants (Dinner, Breakfast, Room Service)
Dinner
We had dinner at one of the hotel's restaurants, and honestly,
the ambiance itself was absolutely incredible.
The sunset and felucca views over the Nile were simply breathtaking,
and with alcoholic beverages available, it was perfect for setting a lovely mood.
However, the food took a very long time to arrive,
and the quality was quite disappointing for the price.

Seafood Platter - 850 Pounds
Herb Lamb Leg - 750 Pounds
Omar Wine - 645 Pounds
The seafood platter had a really strong freshwater aroma, which was a bit overwhelming,
and the herb lamb leg? It was just too tough to eat.
In the end, we mostly left the food untouched and just enjoyed the wine.
(Hotel restaurant alcohol is typically 2-4 times more expensive than external liquor shops, and there aren't many other options around.)

When I ordered a bottle of wine, a separate service charge was added.
For simple drinks, I'd recommend ordering them beforehand
and bringing them to your room!
Breakfast
Breakfast Included / Buffet Style
Operating Hours: 06:00 ~ 10:00
If you have an early morning tour, they can also pack you a breakfast box upon request.
While the variety is quite good, the taste left a little to be desired.
Think bread, vegetables, ham, cheese, falafel, sausages, and more.
In the end, I mostly stuck to the omelets and bread.
5. Final Thoughts
Overall, thanks to the stunning Nile River views and the excellent staff service,
it was a truly pleasant stay.
While the breakfast and dinner quality were a bit disappointing, well, that's often the case in Egypt...
That room view alone truly covered all bases!
If you're seeking a spot to unwind for a day or two in Aswan,

The outdoor swimming pool is 160cm deep for adults and 40cm deep for children. Around 5 PM, the sun sets, creating shade, which makes it a good time to swim while avoiding the sun.
