Philae Temple, located in Aswan, existed until the 6th century AD,

making it the last ancient Egyptian temple to exist.

When the entire island faced submersion due to the construction of the Aswan Dam,

UNESCO took the lead, disassembling the temple stone by stone, and **relocating it to another island for reconstruction**.

When you see it in person, you wouldn't even realize that the temple was moved,

as it was reassembled with such incredible precision.

It's considered a **must-visit landmark in Aswan**.

You can negotiate with taxi drivers for a cheaper ride.

Boat Bargaining

To Philae Temple, specifically Agilkia Island, you **travel by boat**.

Boat Price (Round Trip): 500 EGP/person

I thought the boat price was incredibly expensive,

and it turns out it was indeed a rip-off...

(Egypt, you really...ugh...)

We **joined forces with some Chinese tourists to negotiate**.

I saw reviews saying that ~200 pounds per person was a great deal, but

with some determined bargaining, we managed to **haggle it down to 100 pounds per person**.

Payment was made **after we visited the Philae Temple and arrived back at the pier**.

It's a good idea to get the boat captain's **WhatsApp number** at this point,

which makes it easy to arrange your return from the temple to the pier.

2. Try to **gather other tourists to negotiate** (Korean, Chinese, and Japanese tourists are recommended for this).

3. If you **fail to get your desired price, simply walk away immediately**.

4. Our Experience at the Temple

It's hard to believe that this temple was disassembled and reassembled with the help of UNESCO – it's so **incredibly intricate**, and

you can't find any trace of it ever being moved!

This is a place where ancient Egyptian myths truly come alive, with figures like

**Isis, Osiris, and Horus** from Egyptian mythology **vividly depicted** in the murals, making you feel like you're following a captivating story.

The **carvings on the murals are in excellent condition**, showcasing incredible detail, which made

exploring each one a real pleasure.

Inside Philae Temple, you can also see carvings damaged by the influence of Islam, and

old graffiti left by tourists.

On the right side of the temple, the **Roman-era ruins** offer a completely different atmosphere.

The sight of the **temple and the Nile together** was particularly breathtaking.

When riding the motorboat, if you sit on the left,

you can take photos with the Philae Temple in the background.
