When I'm hunting for the perfect travel hotel,
my non-negotiables are always location, price, and cleanliness.
Since I usually travel with serious shopping plans,
easy access to public transit is a must-have.
I always look for that sweet spot: a modern, clean, and
budget-friendly gem that won't break the bank.
During my recent trip to Fukuoka in 2026, I stayed at the Nishitetsu Inn Fukuoka.
It's a 2-minute walk from Tenjin Station, 3 minutes from the famous Ichiran Ramen Main Store,
and under 10 minutes to major hubs like ONE Building, Parco, Mina Tenjin, and Don Quijote.
At around ~$64 a night, it perfectly checked every single box on my list.

The absolute best part about choosing this hotel
was how effortlessly it connected me to both Tenjin and Nakasu.
It sits just far enough from the chaotic main streets to offer a peaceful night's sleep,
yet close enough that you are never more than a few steps away from the action.
Lobby & Smart Check-In
Check-in is incredibly streamlined with automated kiosks
supporting multiple languages for a quick express process.
If you prefer human interaction or run into any issues,
there are friendly multilingual staff members standing by
at the front desk ready to assist you.
The lobby lounge is beautifully designed and comfortable.
It was quite popular during peak hours, but it is actually
much more spacious than it looks in this photo!
They have a self-serve amenity bar in the lobby.
You can grab body towels, cotton swabs, combs, razors, and toothbrushes as needed.
The Guest Rooms
Guest rooms occupy floors 3 through 12,
with handy coin-operated laundry rooms located on the 7th and 11th floors.
You can also find microwaves and water dispensers on floors 4 and 7.
Since we were staying for a longer 5-to-6 night stretch,
having laundry facilities right in the building was a massive lifesaver.
We booked a Twin Room and were assigned Room 1101 on the 11th floor.
At around 258 sq ft (24 m²), this room is incredibly spacious
compared to your typical, cramped Japanese business hotel rooms.
There was more than enough floor space to lay out four full-sized suitcases
and still have plenty of room to stretch out and relax!
Between the beds, there is a control panel for the lights,
individual reading lamps, and handy power outlets.
No more arguing about who has to get out of bed to turn off the lights!
There is a dedicated wardrobe closet,
and they provide comfortable nightgowns. Since I hate packing pajamas,
these were incredibly convenient.
If you wear them, housekeeping replaces them with fresh ones the next day.
Under the desk, you'll find a mini-fridge stocked with two complimentary bottles of water.
Quick tip: you have to flip the power switch on the upper right
for the fridge to actually start cooling!
The bathroom was exceptionally clean and well-maintained.
The only minor downside was a faint plumbing odor when entering,
but keeping the bathroom door closed completely solved the issue.
As you can see from the bathroom photos,
there was zero mold or water stains. It was spotless.
My boyfriend is incredibly sensitive to dust and suffers from allergies,
but he was thoroughly impressed by how clean and dust-free the entire room was.
He gave it a major thumbs up!
This is the gorgeous Nakasu River night view straight from our room window.
Ending our busy days of exploring by sipping local craft beers
while gazing at these city lights was pure magic. :)

Breakfast
If you opt for breakfast during check-in,
it is served at the restaurant on the 13th floor
and costs approximately ~$13 (2,000 JPY) per person.
Personally, I prefer exploring local brunch spots and cafes,
so we decided to skip the hotel buffet.
Since Tenjin is packed with fantastic early-morning eateries,
you definitely won't go hungry even if you skip the hotel breakfast! :)
Check-out & Extra Perks
Checking out is completely automated through the kiosks,
which support multiple languages and take less than a minute.
Just insert your key card, and you're good to go—it couldn't be simpler!
They also offer free umbrella rentals and have a luggage scale in the lobby.
Fukuoka's weather can be quite unpredictable, even outside of monsoon season.
Having free umbrellas saved us from buying cheap plastic ones at convenience stores.
(We've easily spent over ~$32 on emergency umbrellas on past trips!)
On our final day, the front desk team kindly helped us call a taxi to the airport.
Their warm and helpful service secured Nishitetsu Inn as my top hotel choice
for any future visits to Fukuoka.
If your itinerary focuses heavily on shopping, dining, and exploring
the vibrant Tenjin and Daimyo areas without needing a car,
I highly recommend staying at Nishitetsu Inn Fukuoka!

Check-in is available from 3:00 PM to midnight and is processed via an express kiosk in the lobby. If you are unfamiliar with using the machine, Korean-speaking staff are available to assist you.
The Twin Room is 24㎡, offering enough space to lay out four suitcases on the floor. The refrigerator contains two complimentary bottles of water, and you need to turn on the switch located at the top right for it to operate properly.
Coin laundry facilities are located on the 7th and 11th floors of the hotel. Microwaves and water dispensers are available on the 4th and 7th floors for guests to use freely.
Breakfast is served on the 13th floor of the hotel and can be requested upon check-in. The price is 2,000 JPY per person.
