Decided on a trip to Fukuoka because the flights were affordable, but the hotel prices turned out to be much more expensive than expected. Are you worried about where to stay?
I also recently visited Fukuoka, and while hotel prices aren't too high on weekdays, they can climb 2-3 times higher if a weekend is included.
Especially for hotels near major stations like Hakata Station, the cost was simply too high for the quality, making it impossible to even consider booking.
That's when I found it after a diligent search: a place with a great location and reasonable prices. Let me introduce you to Nishitetsu Inn Tenjin.

Nishitetsu Inn Tenjin is a hotel just a 5-minute walk from Tenjin Minami Station, making it highly accessible in the Tenjin area.
It's especially close to the Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall, and also near Yakuin Station and Watanabedori Station, making it incredibly convenient for moving to other areas.
For me, the most important factor was the accommodation fee. I was able to book it for around ~$131 on weekends. Most hotels near major stations typically go for ~$138-~$207 or more, so this place offered great value for money!

Next, I'll briefly introduce the advantages of Nishitetsu Inn Tenjin.
First, there's a convenience store right behind the hotel. When I visited in the evening, it wasn't as crowded as downtown, making it a peaceful spot to grab some snacks.
Also, though not visible in the photo, there's a Bic Camera store right next door, which is great for some impromptu shopping.
Additionally, the entrance to the Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall is just a 5-minute walk away, which is a huge plus for anyone looking to shop.
Strolling through the underground mall, you'll quickly reach the Tenjin department stores, allowing you to shop all day long.
So, if you're planning a shopping-focused trip and are looking for an affordable hotel, this is an excellent choice.
Next, I'll walk you through the hotel's check-in process and introduce the facilities in the lobby.
The lobby was quite spacious and featured a clean, tiled interior, with a small lounge area at the back.
In the lounge, simple drinks and water were provided for free, perfect for a quick refreshment before or after check-in.
Check-in could be done using the self-check-in machine in the lobby, and a staff member was there to assist, so it wasn't difficult at all. Also, as of July 2026, I didn't have to pay any separate accommodation tax, just a heads-up!
Before or after check-in, you can conveniently leave your luggage in the self-service lockers located to the left of the counter.
And for all your amenity needs, it was a self-service system where you could pick them up from the lobby.
Simple essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and razors were readily available.
We booked the single room for two, which was the most budget-friendly option at the time,
and ended up in room 803.
The room had a typical Japanese business hotel layout, with the bedroom deeper inside and the bathroom conveniently located to the left of the entrance.
Being a single room, it wasn't super spacious, but there was a surprising amount of extra room near the entrance.
Enough, in fact, to comfortably open up two suitcases!
The bedroom layout was quite simple, featuring a double-sized bed and a desk.
As expected for a single room, it would be perfectly spacious for one person, but it felt a little snug for two of us.
All the essential appliances and furnishings were situated by the desk,
including a coffee pot, cups, and a hairdryer.
A quick tip: the hairdryer is cleverly tucked away *under* the bookshelf, so it might take a moment to find if it's your first visit!
Right by the room's entrance, there was a full-length mirror, perfect for those last-minute OOTD checks before heading out,
and on the opposite side, convenient clothes hangers.
Despite the room being compact, they truly made excellent use of the space!
The bathroom also featured a clean, crisp white interior.
While not overly spacious, it thoughtfully included everything you'd need!
For shower essentials, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were all provided,
and each person received two towels. Talk about convenience!
Personally, one of the biggest charms of Nishitetsu Inn Tenjin for me was its incredibly atmospheric railway view.
Looking out from my room, I could see the railway right away, which truly gave off that unique Japanese vibe.
I was pleasantly surprised by how well soundproofed the rooms were;
it wasn't nearly as loud as I expected when trains passed by.
And finally, there are also some handy amenities located outside the guest rooms.
On the 12th floor, you'll find an ice maker, vending machines, a washing machine, and even a dryer! Plus, they provide a microwave and wooden chopsticks, so you can use them whenever you need.
Personally, having the ice maker was fantastic for enjoying a cool beer in the evening.
Today, I introduced Nishitetsu Inn Tenjin, a hotel where you can enjoy an affordable stay even in Fukuoka, where accommodation can sometimes be pricey.
It offers even better value for money if you stay on a weekend when downtown accommodation prices are significantly higher than weekdays.

The distance to nearby stations isn't far, and it's quite close to the main shopping streets, so I especially recommend it for those planning a trip centered around shopping!
