Nishitetsu Hotel Croom Nagoya Review: Onsen & Food
Discover Nishitetsu Hotel Croom Nagoya, a stylish oasis in Sakae featuring an outdoor hot spring bath, amazing breakfast, and steps from Mirai Tower.
From ~$109

Super close to shopping and top-notch restaurants,
only a 5-minute walk from bustling Sakae Station,
and just a 1-minute walk from Hisaya-odori Station,
we checked into Nishitetsu Hotel Croom Nagoya.
We booked through Agoda with breakfast and the public hot bath included.
For a 2-night, 3-day weekend stay (Friday to Sunday), it was around ~$224!

The iconic Nagoya Mirai Tower
is just a 5-minute walk away,
the neighborhood is peaceful and not too crowded,
and having a convenience store right next door was incredibly convenient!
The moment we walked through the hotel doors,
we were greeted by an exceptionally sleek and modern lobby.
The staff members were incredibly welcoming,
and they had clear English guide maps, which made everything a breeze!

When you leave your bags before check-in, they give you a luggage tag.
Keep hold of it, and when you're ready to check in,
just show the tag to the front desk to retrieve your bags.

There's also a huge local gourmet map on the wall!
The lobby has an amenity bar stocked with toothbrushes, toothpaste, cotton swabs, and combs,
so you can easily
grab what you need before heading up to your room.

The room itself felt quite spacious compared to other typical Japanese business hotels!

On the sofa,
there was actually an electric shoulder massager,
which was such a wonderful touch after a long day of exploring!

They provide comfortable slippers and a handy mesh tote basket.
When you head up to the public hot bath,
you’ll want to pack your room towels into this basket and take them with you.

I loved that the vanity area, the shower booth, and the toilet
were all completely separated for extra convenience!

There’s a small TV, and the mini-fridge
is completely empty.

Here is the view outside the window.
Right in front are towering skyscrapers and roads.
It’s usually pretty quiet,
but every once in a very long while,
it could get a bit noisy.

The bed is on the smaller side,
but the room didn’t feel as cramped as I expected!

There was a shower but no bathtub in this room,
though rooms with bathtubs are available.

And the best part about this hotel?
There is a public bath (onsen) on the 14th floor!

They give you separate keys for the men's and women's baths,
and you can only enter if you have your key.
There are both indoor and outdoor open-air baths,
open from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM
and from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM (25:00).

Right next to the bath area, there's a vending machine,
a microwave, and even free ice with paper cups!
Since it was a super hot and humid summer day,
I made great use of that ice-cold water.

They also gave us some discount coupons!

Breakfast is 1,800 yen (~$12) if added separately,
and coffee is 200 yen (~$1.30).
The room spray had a wonderful, relaxing herbal scent,
though it had a slight alcohol smell too...
They actually sell it at the hotel!
Breakfast
6:30 AM – 10:00 AM

The breakfast buffet is located on the 2nd floor.
They give you breakfast coupons, so make sure to keep them safe and
don't forget to bring them with you!
Since we stayed for 2 days,
we were carrying around 4 coupons.

It can get quite busy,
but they guide you in after just a short wait.
They have both standard low tables and slightly higher counter-style seating.

They even had Nagoya's famous flat Kishimen noodles,
and toast was available too.

Salad

Soft Tofu & Pollack Roe

Natto, yellow pickled radish, and Japanese pickles

Bacon, mapo tofu, dim sum, Tamagoyaki (rolled omelet), and curry

Miso soup

Tonkotsu ramen
And amazingly,
they also serve Nagoya's signature Hitsumabushi (eel rice bowl) here!
To be honest, the flavors weren't absolutely mind-blowing to my personal taste, but with juice, coffee, and pastries also available,
it was still a great way to fill up
and power up for a day of exploring!

Once you step out of the hotel, you can walk straight down to the bustling
Sakae Station, which made getting around so convenient!
Now, let's head out to grab lunch!
