Ningbo Tianyi Square Hotel Review 2026: New & Affordable Stay
Explore Ningbo from a modern, budget-friendly hotel near Tianyi Square. Features AI speakers, robot delivery, and a 24/7 laundry room. Ideal for business or leisure travelers seeking comfort and convenience.
When I'm booking a hotel in China,
one of the first things I always check is
the property's age.
Even if a hotel is affordable,
older places can often feel worn,
with noticeable signs of use in the rooms and bathrooms,
despite looking decent in photos.
That's why I always make sure to find out
if it's a new build or when its last major renovation was
before I book.
The hotel I booked this time was a brand-new property,
yet it offered incredibly low rates,
and its proximity to Tianyi Square was a huge plus,
making it super convenient for grabbing dinner
or exploring the area after a day of activities.
After staying there, I can confirm the room was spotless,
and with all the amenities available,
it truly delivered excellent value for the price.

Actual Room Condition

The Superior Queen Room I stayed in felt quite spacious –
enough to spread out my luggage without feeling cramped.
There was a dedicated spot to use my laptop,
and it was easy to keep my belongings organized.
A standout feature was the AI smart speaker;
being able to control the lights and curtains just by speaking
was incredibly convenient, especially when I was already settled in bed.
Robot Delivers Takeout Right to Your Door

When I'm on a business trip, I often order takeout for a late-night snack.
Here, when you order through a delivery app,
the delivery driver leaves the food with a robot on the ground floor,
and the robot brings it right to your room door.
Not having to go down to the front desk to pick up my food –
especially after showering and relaxing in bed –
was far more convenient than I expected.
A Location That Minimizes Wasted Movement

This hotel's proximity to Tianyi Square meant
I didn't have to venture far for dinner or to pick up essentials.
It was also perfect for spending some leisurely time
around the hotel after a busy day.
The Drum Tower is also nearby, making it easy to explore on foot in the evening,
and Laowaitan is not hard to reach either.
If you're adding Ningbo to your Shanghai itinerary,
staying in the downtown area where attractions and restaurants are concentrated
will make your trip much smoother.
Quiet Even in a Busy Area at Night
Being in the city center, I initially wondered if it would be noisy at night.
However, during my stay, I found that traffic sounds or ambient noise
didn't significantly penetrate the room.
After a full day of activities, all I want is a quiet place to relax,
and this hotel absolutely delivered on that front.
That said, if you're particularly sensitive to noise,
it might be a good idea to request a quieter room when you make your reservation.
The Handy 24-Hour Laundry Room

Personally, the self-service laundry room was incredibly practical.
Having both a washer and dryer meant I could clean my clothes and dry them immediately.
Especially during summer, when you're out and about all day and your clothes get damp,
being able to do laundry right at the hotel was a lifesaver.
While it's not a massive gym,
there's also a small fitness center available, which was perfectly adequate for a quick workout.
So, if I go to Ningbo again?
Based on my experience, I'd give this hotel a solid 4.7 out of 5 stars.
If your ideal trip involves lounging all day by a pool,
you might want to look at other options.
However, if you plan to explore Ningbo during the day
and want a comfortable, relaxing place to unwind afterward,
then I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
It’s an excellent choice if you're looking to avoid older hotels
without breaking the bank on accommodation in Ningbo.
The room condition was pristine,
and considering the $44 price I paid,
there was no need to seek out a more expensive hotel.
I encountered no significant inconveniences during my stay,
and both the location and the room met my expectations perfectly.
Next time I'm in Ningbo,
I'll definitely check the rates here first before comparing other hotels.
