Nagoya Osu Shopping Street Guide 2026: Culture, Food & Fun
Dive into Nagoya's vibrant Osu Shopping Street! Find unique souvenirs, delicious street food, and experience the city's lively otaku culture and historic Osu Kannon Temple.
I still can't get used to
the weather in Japan!
It's beyond hot—it's absolutely scorching. A parasol is an absolute must!
Location
3 Chome Osu, Naka Ward, Nagoya, Aichi 460-0011 Japan Osu District, Naka Ward, Nagoya

Located right in the heart of Nagoya,
Osu Shopping Street is an absolute must-visit! You can shop,
enjoy street food, and experience otaku culture here.
I'm so excited to finally be at Osu Shopping Street!
There are over 1,200 shops and
restaurants here,
along with the beautiful Osu Kannon Temple!

🎈Nagoya Subway
It's just a 3-minute walk from Exit 8 of Kamimaezu Station,
and since the shopping street is a covered arcade,
even if it rains
or the weather is bad, you can explore without any worries!
You can also easily get here from Osu Kannon Station, which is only a 5-minute walk.

There were so many locals and tourists,
and I saw quite a few people dressed in incredible cosplays!

I arrived early in the morning when it was still pretty quiet,
but as afternoon approached, it got incredibly crowded!

Opening Hours
10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Please note that hours may vary
depending on the individual shop.

There's also a massive two-story gachapon (capsule toy) shop!

The AC was blasting, keeping it super cool and refreshing,
and with plenty of benches around while browsing,
it was the perfect escape from the heat!

There’s even a steakhouse here,

as well as grilled beef tongue (gyutan) skewers!

I also spotted a shop called Kitte-sha that sells rare stamps and old coins.

Tucked away in the alleys, you'll find cute ice cream shops
and cozy little beer pubs.

There are so many unique, bohemian-style clothing stores!

Everything is so colorful and beautifully decorated.

And there's even a Naruto Taiyaki Honpo shop for delicious taiyaki!

Seeing so many people in cool cosplays
was super fascinating, too!

Since it was incredibly hot outside,
we ended up café-hopping twice
while exploring Osu Shopping Street.
First up was a strawberry specialty dessert shop
called Strawberry Chi!

Nagoya's cost of living feels a bit high... the prices are...

Drinks are in the 700 yen range (~$5) and cakes are over 1,000 yen (~$7)

The strawberries were incredibly sour!
I wish they had been a bit sweeter.

It wasn't super sweet, but it was very refreshing.
After sipping on some strawberry milk and ade,
we headed to a place called Komehyo,

which is a vintage luxury secondhand department store!

It has 7 floors of treasures!
From accessories and bags to clothing...
...and even watches, the variety made it so much fun to browse.
I completely lost track of time.

There are taco shops, and in the Osu Shopping District,
the rice balls, Taiwanese street food, and kebabs are famous!

While walking, we saw a meerkat begging to be held
because of the hot weather!
It was such an amazing sight.
Just lying there, refusing to budge, and holding out for 3 minutes straight!

The clouds looked just like cotton candy,
so I snapped a quick picture in the alley.

And next, we're heading to yet another cafe—one that serves a seriously delicious latte!!
