Dive into the culinary heart of Muan with a visit to Muan Cham Beol Nakji in Nakji Alley. Experience the freshest mud octopus, a local specialty you won't forget.

Hey there, fellow foodies! Today, I'm excited to share my recent weekend adventure with the family to Muan Nakji Alley, where we discovered the incredible Muan Cham Beol Nakji restaurant. If you're looking for an authentic taste of Korea, this is a must-visit!
When you think of octopus in Korea, Muan instantly comes to mind. And within Muan, the ultimate spot for octopus specialists is none other than Muan Nakji Alley, a vibrant street dedicated to this incredible delicacy. It's a culinary hub where you can truly experience the best of Muan's famed mud octopus.
Mud octopus from Muan is more than just a delicious meal; it's a traditional Korean powerhouse for boosting vitality. There's an old saying that Muan's mud octopus can even make a fallen ox stand back up – a testament to its incredible restorative properties. It's truly a fantastic food for regaining energy and feeling revitalized!

The Muan Nakji Alley where I visited boasts a dedicated parking tower, the Nakji-gol Parking Tower. Conveniently, Muan Cham Beol Nakji restaurant is located right in front of this parking structure.

While parking at the tower is an option, there's also a spacious open-air parking lot right next to Muan Cham Beol Nakji, offering even more convenience.

The availability of both the parking tower and the adjacent lot made parking incredibly easy compared to other places.

Right in front of the restaurant, we could see live octopuses, sorted by size, in large tanks – a true testament to their freshness!

Here's a peek at the menu displayed outside the restaurant.

And the menu from inside the restaurant. Muan Cham Beol Nakji offers a diverse range of dishes, all showcasing the incredible freshness of Muan's mud octopus.

As expected from a renowned Muan octopus restaurant, the interior was bustling with eager diners. We quickly found our seats and ordered a Nakji Tangtangi and a Raw Octopus Bibimbap to truly savor the authentic taste of the octopus.

If you're looking to explore a wider range of octopus dishes, their course meals also looked incredibly tempting!
Our Nakji Tangtangi arrived, accompanied by a delightful array of traditional Korean side dishes, known as 'banchan.' It was a fantastic spread featuring many famous ingredients grown right here in Muan.

While octopus is undoubtedly Muan's most famous culinary export, the region is also renowned for its delicious onions and sweet potatoes. We were delighted to find both sweet potato and onion kimchi included in our basic banchan spread – a true 'Muan Feast'!

Our highly anticipated Nakji Tangtangi arrived first!

In my humble opinion, Nakji Tangtangi is the best way to experience the true, unadulterated flavor of Muan's mud octopus. Just look at how fresh it is in the video!

The incredibly fresh Muan mud octopus!

My second child found it hilarious when the octopus stuck to their teeth, giggling and asking me to take a picture. Both kids agreed that the octopus was wonderfully chewy and had a fantastic texture.

Next up was the Raw Octopus Bibimbap!
It looked so appetizing and savory, I even thought it would be delicious simply mixed without any gochujang (Korean chili paste).

The Raw Octopus Bibimbap, generously drizzled with sesame oil, filled the air with a rich, nutty aroma.

We then mixed the Raw Octopus Bibimbap with gochujang. One bowl got a generous dollop, while the kids' portion had just a little.

A good mix with gochujang, and voilà – a perfectly delicious Raw Octopus Bibimbap was ready! With the freshest Muan mud octopus and the generous, heartfelt ingredients from Muan Cham Beol Nakji, it simply couldn't be anything but amazing.
As we were leaving, I was genuinely surprised to see an octopus as large as an actual octopus (문어, *mun-eo*, which means common octopus) in the tank outside Muan Cham Beol Nakji, so I had to capture a photo!

Muan Cham Beol Nakji offers a variety of dishes made with fresh, tender Muan mud octopus, making it a fantastic choice even for those trying Muan octopus for the first time. If you're planning a trip to Muan, make sure to visit Muan Cham Beol Nakji, conveniently located right in front of the Muan Nakji Alley (Muan Mud Octopus Street) parking lot, and indulge in their delicious octopus creations!
