Mokpo Indeung Guesthouse Review 2026: Solo Traveler's Cozy Stay
Searching for the perfect Mokpo guesthouse? This review covers a charming, budget-friendly spot near Mokpo Station, ideal for solo travelers seeking privacy and comfort.

For my recent trip to Mokpo, choosing the right accommodation was my biggest dilemma.
Honestly, if a luxurious 'hotel-cation' isn't your main goal, spending a fortune on a fancy hotel feels like a waste of money.
At the same time, I wasn't looking for a cheap, awkward place trying to pass itself off as a hotel.
Especially when traveling solo or with just one female friend, security and atmosphere are crucial for peace of mind!
So, I set three strict criteria for my ideal stay:
📌 It had to be close to Mokpo Station.
📌 It needed private 1-2 person rooms, not just dorms, even if it was a guesthouse.
📌 I wanted a charming, atmospheric guesthouse that prioritized a relaxed vibe over forced socializing.
This review is all about the Mokpo guesthouse that perfectly met all my picky requirements!
Let's dive in!
Common Areas

The moment I stepped inside and saw the stylish common area, I knew I had made the right choice.
It had a wonderful, almost European guesthouse feel!
There's a large table, perfect for getting some work done on your laptop, reading a book, or quietly journaling.

You'll also find a cozy sofa area with a beam projector for movie nights and a spot to write in the travel guestbook.

Reading the heartfelt messages from previous travelers in the Mokpo guesthouse guestbook really warmed my heart.

The shared kitchen is also spacious and incredibly charming, isn't it?!
I used it lightly for breakfast and dinner, and I appreciated that there wasn't any loud socializing; everyone was quiet and respectful.
(Available from 8 AM to 10 PM)
The large shared refrigerator is great for storing drinks or food, and the complimentary breakfast (toast, cereal, eggs) is perfect for a quick bite before heading out.

On my last morning, I even cooked myself some ramen with an egg – a perfect start to the day!

Another thoughtful touch that made this feel like a true traveler's guesthouse? You can rent bicycles for just ~$2 a day!
The genuine care for travelers really made my stay enjoyable.
Room Types
1-2 Person Twin and Double Rooms

The rooms are impeccably clean and comfortable. Even though it's a guesthouse, the private 1-2 person rooms make it perfect for solo travelers or friends to relax without interruption.
After a full day of exploring, it’s the ideal spot to unwind, watch a movie on the projector with a cold drink, and get a great night's sleep!

One of the best features, especially for a guesthouse, is having a private bathroom in the room!
The bathroom was spotless, odor-free, and incredibly well-maintained.
Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body cleanser, and toothpaste. Inside the room, you'll also find a hairdryer, vanity, and mirror – everything you need!
Accessibility

Most travelers heading to Mokpo will arrive by train, and this guesthouse is incredibly convenient, located just a 5-7 minute walk from Mokpo Station.
I was pulling a fairly large suitcase, but the path was smooth, making the walk easy and stress-free.
Even better, there’s a convenience store right across the street from the guesthouse!
For a pedestrian traveler, you couldn't ask for a better location!
Price Comparison
Now for the price – I was genuinely surprised when I booked!
Around Mokpo Station, many mediocre hotels and accommodations can get quite pricey on weekends. The biggest advantage here is getting a charming, atmospheric stay for about half the price of a hotel.
They also have suite rooms in addition to the 1-2 person rooms, so be sure to check out the different room types!
