Mokpo Pyeonghwa Plaza Accommodation Recommendation: Cloudin Hotel
Honest Review of Free Breakfast Menu & Hours
Following my 2-night stay review at Mokpo Cloudin Hotel,
this time, I'm bringing you an exclusive review of their free breakfast.
The theme of my Mokpo trip with my sibling was none other than
a culinary adventure!!
Since there were so many fantastic restaurants and cafes to explore,
I honestly hadn't planned on filling up on hotel breakfast first thing in the morning.
However, Cloudin Hotel provides free breakfast as a standard amenity for guests,
and the first-floor cafeteria area looked so clean and inviting that we decided to drop by for an 'open run'.
To get straight to the point, even though I didn't have high expectations,
it turned out to be a surprisingly substantial spread for a simple breakfast,
and personally, I was quite pleased with the coffee.
If you're looking for a great value-for-money accommodation
near Mokpo Pyeonghwa Plaza, it's worth checking not just the room condition, but also whether free breakfast is included.

Cloudin Hotel Breakfast Restaurant & Hours

The Cloudin Hotel breakfast is served at the cafeteria next to the front desk on the 1st floor.
The cafeteria itself is a space that can be freely used 24 hours a day,
and free breakfast is available daily from 06:30 AM to 08:30 AM.
However, please note that breakfast service may end if the prepared food runs out.
So, if you want to enjoy a leisurely meal,
I recommend visiting a little earlier.
We went right at opening, and there weren't many people,
allowing us to enjoy a peaceful meal.
While the space isn't overly large, the tables and
surroundings are meticulously maintained,
making it perfectly comfortable for breakfast.
A Surprisingly Substantial Free Breakfast Menu
Honestly, since it was a free breakfast, I didn't have high expectations at first,
but when I actually went, I was surprised to find a quite diverse menu.
Stir-fried rice, roasted eggs, kimchi, warm soup with croutons,
toast, cereal, milk, juice, and more were available as basic offerings.
Additionally, there were cup noodles and various types of bread like Soboro bread (crumbly topping bread), cream buns,
Castella (sponge cake), and red bean paste buns to enjoy.
Those who eat a hearty breakfast can fill up, and for someone like me who doesn't eat much,
it was great to just pick and choose what I wanted.
Considering it's a complimentary breakfast,
it felt quite substantial and well-rounded.

Personally, what I was most satisfied with was the coffee!
There's an automatic coffee machine in the breakfast area, so you can drink as much as you like.
And considering it's coffee provided in a free breakfast area, the taste was surprisingly good.
There was one cafe I visited in Mokpo that was a bit of a disappointment,
so perhaps that's why the coffee I had at Cloudin Hotel's breakfast restaurant felt even more delicious.
If you're someone who absolutely needs a cup of coffee in the morning,
this aspect will likely be quite satisfying.

There were several types of cup noodles available, so if you're looking for a hearty breakfast,
you could even choose to have a cup of ramen.

Bottled water, juice, milk, cereal, and ice were also provided.
If you prefer something light, just having cereal, bread, or coffee is perfectly sufficient.
I really liked this setup because it meant I didn't have to commit to a full Korean or Western meal just because it was a hotel breakfast.
Instead, I could simply pick and choose a few things I wanted to eat.

When it's not breakfast time, the area is tidily arranged like this,
and since it's a 24-hour accessible space, drinks are always available.

You'll find baked eggs and napa cabbage kimchi, and inside the rice cooker...
...warm soup and croutons are ready to go!
There's just something about having a warm dish for breakfast
that makes you feel truly satisfied, and I was so glad to see soup available.

And here's a little tip for those planning a longer stay!
I actually stayed for two nights at Cloudin Hotel, and during my visit,
the fried rice options were different each day.
I was a bit concerned the breakfast menu might get repetitive with a consecutive stay,
but I was pleasantly surprised to find variety in the menu over my two-night stay.

Along with salt, butter, strawberry jam, and dressing,
you'll also find fresh salad and toast bread~

Beyond just toast, they also had various breads like streusel bread, cream bread, castella cake,
and even red bean paste buns, with the selection changing slightly each day.
While the breakfast menu might not be a lavish, full-scale hotel buffet,
it offered a perfectly adequate spread for a complimentary breakfast to get your day started.
I even captured the vibe of the breakfast area in a video,
so if you're curious, feel free to click and check it out! Haha.
Personally, I highly recommend visiting for breakfast right when it opens.
We arrived for the 6:30 AM opening, and because we were there before the crowds,
we were able to enjoy our meal peacefully, and all the food stations were
fully stocked and fresh.
Plus, if you have an early start to your travel itinerary,
it's perfect to grab breakfast early and head straight out!
Cloudin Hotel's Complimentary Breakfast: My Honest Review

As I've gotten a bit older, my digestion isn't quite what it used to be,
and since my previous Mokpo trip was already a culinary adventure,
I wasn't looking to stuff myself full first thing in the morning.
So, for both my two mornings, I kept it super light with just warm soup and an espresso.
But honestly, the coffee was surprisingly good,
which I was really pleased with!

The next morning, I stuck to my light espresso and soup combo!
My sibling, on the other hand, who has a much better metabolism, really went all out!
They enjoyed cup noodles, grabbed some bread, and made the most of the complimentary breakfast! Haha.
I honestly thought a complimentary breakfast would just mean some basic bread and drinks,
but they offered warm soup, fried rice, baked eggs, various breads, cereal, cup noodles, drinks, and even coffee.
It was certainly a comprehensive spread for a morning meal.
The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy throughout our two-night stay,
and topping it all off with a complimentary breakfast?
When you factor that into the overall accommodation cost,
it made Cloudin Hotel an incredibly good value-for-money stay!
If you're heading to Mokpo for a trip or business and need a place near Peace Square,
I highly recommend checking out Cloudin Hotel, especially since it includes complimentary breakfast.
