It's a local favorite, not just for its playful branding, but because its prices are truly unbeatable, making it a go-to spot for refreshing drinks across the country.

I visited the Mixue Ice Cream & Tea Taidong 6th Road branch during my trip to Qingdao, specifically at:

However, with Mixue boasting the highest number of stores among all milk tea brands in China, you'll find a branch almost everywhere you go. It's such a common franchise that you likely won't need to go out of your way to find a specific location – just keep an eye out!

Recommended Menu Items

Mixue's menu is surprisingly extensive, featuring everything from classic milk teas and refreshing fruit teas to soft-serve ice cream and even coffee. If it's your first time, I recommend sticking to their most iconic offerings:

How to Order at Mixue

Just like many other cafes and eateries in China, Mixue primarily uses a QR code ordering system. Simply scan the QR code found at the storefront or counter using your Alipay or WeChat app.

The ordering process is straightforward:

Scan QR code → Select desired menu item → Choose options (sweetness, ice level, etc.) → Complete payment

Even if the menu is entirely in Chinese, don't worry! Alipay's built-in translation feature can help you navigate the options, making ordering surprisingly easy for international visitors.

I opted for Mixue's famous Fresh Lemon Water. I really wanted to try the soft-serve ice cream, which gets rave reviews, but I was too full from dinner!

While it's often called "lemonade," it's more accurately a sweet lemon-infused water with fresh lemon slices. Honestly, my first thought was, "Is this really lemonade?" The flavor wasn't as intense as I expected, and it leaned more sweet than tart. If you're envisioning a typical tangy lemonade, you might find it a bit underwhelming.

Mixue isn't a brand like Chagee or Heytea, where you savor complex tea flavors. It truly excels as a value-for-money option. While it's incredibly popular with locals, as a tourist in China (where prices are generally already quite low), I'm not sure I'd strongly recommend it for a unique flavor experience.
