For those of you planning a trip to Brisbane, Australia,

I usually opt for hotels that offer excellent value,
but this hotel's facilities were so impressive for the price,
I booked it without hesitation.
Today, I'm excited to introduce a fantastic spot perfect for families, couples, or anyone really –
a 5-star hotel with self-catering facilities,
Meriton Suites Herschel Street!

This hotel is part of the world-renowned Meriton brand,
and it's incredibly close to the city center.
You're just about a 7-minute walk from the heart of the city,
✅ and Woolworths is just one block away,
making it a truly convenient location for travelers.
The map below highlights some key attractions and the hotel's location,
so you can easily get a sense of its prime spot!

Next, I've compiled the booking details and pricing information for Meriton Suites Herschel Street Hotel
in the table below.

As you can see, based on a Friday stay in January 2026,
the accommodation costs on Trip.com and Agoda are nearly identical.
Let me tell you about the hotel lobby's ambiance and the check-in process.

As a 5-star hotel, the moment I stepped into the lobby,
I was immediately struck by its luxurious feel.
With bright, pristine white tones dominating the floors, walls, and ceilings,
it created an energetic and inviting atmosphere.
Plus, there were plenty of spacious seating areas,
which made waiting during check-in or check-out a breeze.

📍 The official check-in time for the accommodation is 3 PM,
and check-out is at 10 AM.
However, we arrived at 10 AM to drop off our luggage,
and it seemed there was a room available, so we were able to check in right away!
Quite a few hotels in Australia seem to offer
this kind of early check-in.
Since it was the off-peak season, and the accommodation was around ~$100 per night,
my satisfaction with the hotel was already soaring!
Next, I'll share my experience and showcase the Standard Suite Room I stayed in.

I was assigned room 608.
The most affordable Standard Rooms are located on floors 1 to 10.
Just a heads-up, these rooms are typically located on the lower floors.

Stepping into the room for the first time, I was genuinely surprised by how incredibly spacious it was!
Instead of the typical one-room hotel setup,
it featured a separate bedroom and living room.
And oh, I absolutely loved that it came fully equipped with its own dining table, kitchen, and a comfy sofa!

The inner bedroom was surprisingly spacious too,
with a plush bed that promised a fantastic night's sleep.
What truly sold me was not having to worry about tripping over my suitcase!
In most small hotel rooms, once you open your luggage, there's barely any space left to move. Here, that wasn't an issue at all – such a relief!

Next up, I explored the kitchen.
It's pretty much the size of a standard home kitchen,
and with a microwave and gas stove, whipping up your own meals is absolutely possible!
Considering how affordable beef is in Australia,
I immediately thought it would be amazing to grab some meat from Woolworths near the hotel
and grill it up for a delicious dinner!

They really thought of everything! Pots, plates, cooking utensils, cutlery, and more –
all the basic essentials for cooking and enjoying a meal were conveniently provided.

Another little touch that totally won me over was the fact that a
coffee machine and capsules were also provided!
It had a richer taste than your average instant coffee,
and it hit just the right spot for me.

Next up is the in-room bathroom.
While the room and living area felt so expansive,
the bathroom was comparatively on the smaller side.
Even so, it was spotlessly clean overall, and I really appreciated that
amenities like shampoo and conditioner were provided in individual travel kits
rather than multi-use dispensers, making me feel a little more at ease.

Just so you know, as the standard rooms are on lower floors,
you can expect views of the surrounding buildings.
But don't worry, it wasn't a suffocating, blocked-off view right outside;
I honestly didn't feel any discomfort during my stay.
Finally, let me introduce the other amenities.

Though basic, they even had a gym available!
With two treadmills, one exercise bike, and so on,
while there weren't a ton of exercise machines,
they had plenty of dumbbells, so you could definitely get a good strength workout done.

There was also an indoor pool, making it perfect if you're on a longer trip
and want to really settle in for some hotel relaxation, a true 'hotel-cation' vibe.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to experience it ourselves!

I usually opt for hotels that offer great value,
but I stumbled upon a fantastic deal for Meriton Hotel and decided to give it a try.
And wow, there's definitely a reason it's a 5-star establishment!
Not only were the rooms remarkably spacious,
but the lobby and overall interior design also exuded a heightened sense of luxury.
Despite all this, I managed to snag it for around ~$104 on a weekday,
which made my satisfaction levels skyrocket!
If you're planning a trip with your family, including parents,
or looking for a romantic getaway with your significant other,
I highly recommend giving Meriton a try!
