MM Mega Market Ho Chi Minh: Coffee Souvenir Guide
Explore the massive coffee and tea sections at MM Mega Market An Phu in Ho Chi Minh City. Find premium Robusta, legendary Weasel blends, and unique local teas!

My close friend came to visit me in Ho Chi Minh City recently, and before we knew it, her departure date was already creeping up on us. Time flies when you are having fun!
We had an amazing itinerary: exploring the gorgeous Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, slurping down bowls of authentic pho, wandering through local neighborhoods, and dancing until the early hours at the lively Bui Vien Walking Street.
To make sure she went home with the best local goodies, and to pack some gifts for my own family, we headed over to MM Mega Market. The coffee and tea aisles here are so massive and impressive that I had to document everything for future reference!

Ho Chi Minh Mega Market Coffee Section

First up is the legendary Trung Nguyen Legend Coffee! My partner brought this back as a gift from a business trip back in 2024, and it is truly top-tier.
Priced at 1,199,000 VND (around ~$45), this is the most premium option in the entire coffee section. It is less of an everyday brew and more of a high-end, state-gift level present.
This is a replica of the famous Weasel Coffee (civet coffee). The Legend brand spent years researching and successfully recreated the unique, smooth flavor profile of naturally fermented civet coffee beans using their proprietary process.
They also have dedicated brand stores in District 1 where you can find an even wider range of prices and premium selections, so definitely check those out if you have the time!

Next is MR. VIET Coffee, priced at a very reasonable 169,000 VND (around ~$6).
This brand features robust Robusta beans. If you prefer a strong, bold, and pleasantly bitter black coffee over sweet pre-packaged instant mixes, this is the one to grab.
Robusta is actually the backbone of Vietnam's famous coffee culture. The traditional "Ca Phe Sua Da" (iced milk coffee) is made by brewing these intense Robusta beans through a phin filter and mixing them with sweet condensed milk.
Because Robusta is so bold, it pairs perfectly with rich toppings. It is the secret behind Vietnam's diverse coffee creations, like decadent egg coffee, savory salt cream coffee, and the creamy milk-forward Bac Xiu!

I was incredibly curious about this one, so I had to buy it: G7 Durian Coffee for 72,000 VND (around ~$3).
It is absolutely fascinating! The creamy, sweet coffee flavor is perfectly infused with the distinct aroma of durian. I am definitely going back to buy another box before my trip home.
Here are some of the other fantastic coffee options available at Mega Market that I hope to try during my time in Vietnam:

The market operates a bit like Costco, offering massive bulk bags of whole beans. If you have an espresso machine or grinder at home, stocking up on these Robusta beans is highly recommended.

And of course, here is the massive G7 Coffee zone! Almost an entire aisle is dedicated purely to G7 products.

While G7 used to be the ultimate must-buy souvenir, these days you can easily find it online globally. Still, buying it directly from the source in Saigon feels special!
Ho Chi Minh Mega Market Tea Section

They also have a fantastic selection of green teas and herbal blends.

You will find popular local brands like Cozy, alongside international favorites like Lipton.

Even the private label (PB) teas created by MM Mega Market itself are incredibly affordable and delicious!
I usually buy my artichoke tea (Atiso) from WinMart, and at first, I didn't see any in this specific tea aisle...
But wait! I ended up finding it in a completely different section of the store.
If you look closely around Mega Market, they have a dedicated section displaying regional Vietnamese specialties. That area is a absolute goldmine for unique local food finds!
I will be sharing all the details about that hidden specialty section in my next post, so stay tuned!
