Matsuyama is home to the renowned Dogo Onsen, a bathhouse steeped in history and recognized as one of Japan's significant cultural heritage sites. While the main building (Honkan) is an architectural marvel, the annex (Asuka-no-Yu) also offers a wonderful experience.

Keep in mind that while the coupons usually apply to the annex, the main building (Honkan) is the true cultural heritage site and is truly magnificent. If you're keen to experience the Honkan, paid admission is available.

Did you know that Pan Maison, the "holy grail" of salt bread in Tokyo, has a location near Matsuyama? While the Ginza branch in Tokyo is fantastic, if you're already in the area, you absolutely must make a stop here!

The photo above shows the Tokyo Ginza store, but the Matsuyama-area branch often offers an even wider selection of delicious breads. It's about an hour away by tram and train from the main Matsuyama area, but trust us, the journey is well worth it for these delectable treats!

The distance might make you hesitate, but if your schedule allows, a visit here is highly recommended. Just remember they are closed on Tuesdays!
