1. Flying Jeju Air to Matsuyama

We embarked on our journey to Matsuyama with Jeju Air, a route that feels perfectly suited, much like its namesake, Jeju Island.

Compared to popular hubs like Tokyo or Osaka, demand for Matsuyama isn't as high, which often means more affordable flights – a great perk we certainly took advantage of!

After checking our bags at the counter, we headed straight to the boarding gate.

Thankfully, our flight took off without any delays. The vibrant orange of Jeju Air's branding always adds a cheerful touch. As a low-cost carrier, the seating is a bit compact, but the clean seats made for a comfortable 1 hour, 20-minute flight. It's such a short hop, you'll be there before you know it!

2. Matsuyama Airport Coupons & ATM Access

Upon arrival, you'll immediately spot Matsuyama's charming local character mascots. Doesn't it remind you a bit of Jeju Island? Indeed, as you explore Matsuyama, you'll find an abundance of citrus-related foods and desserts, constantly drawing parallels to Korea's beloved island.

On one side of the airport, there's an ATM where you can withdraw cash, often fee-free, using international debit or travel cards. And here's a crucial tip: make sure to visit the information desk! They often have special coupon booklets for international visitors. These booklets are a must-grab for potential discounts and offers during your stay. 3. Matsuyama Airport's Free Shuttle Service

Once you leave the airport, you'll need a shuttle to get to the city center. Did you know Matsuyama offers a free shuttle service? Historically, there have been special free shuttle options specifically for Korean visitors, so it's always worth checking at the information desk for current international visitor promotions and eligibility when you arrive in 2026!

There are several routes available, and I hopped on the shuttle heading towards Matsuyama Station. Make sure to choose the shuttle that best suits your hotel's location. A key point to remember: the ride *to* the city center is free, but you'll typically need to pay for the return trip, so plan accordingly!

Double-check the signs to ensure you're boarding the correct bus for your destination.

The shuttle bus is quite comfortable. The seating isn't overly spacious, so I recommend storing your luggage in the designated cargo area and just taking your seat for a more relaxed ride.
