Many of you preparing for a trip to Taipei, Taiwan, might have been surprised by how expensive accommodations can be, right? 😭

Around Ximending, if a place is even halfway decent,

a basic room starts at around ~$146 to ~$219, which can really make you feel the pinch...

This time, I personally stayed there for a night and was so satisfied that I just had to introduce this place to you ! +_+

Right across the street from Taipei Main Station,

I'm going to share my honest, paid-for-with-my-own-money review of Master Hotel. 😖✨

The fact that it's in the super early ~$70 range is already great value, plus the security and high-floor views were perfect,

And it's connected to Q Square Mall, a large department store, and the 1819 Airport Bus Terminal, making the location absolutely perfect !

It was incredibly convenient when heading back home. 😖

1. Master Hotel: Location, 10 out of 10! 🩵

The biggest advantages of Master Hotel were definitely its

location, price, and safety , , 💖

✔️ Incredibly Convenient Accessibility

Just cross one pedestrian crossing and you're

right at Taipei Main Station, making it super easy to get around, and convenient for meeting up for Yeshou-Shifen-Jiufen-Pingxi (Yeshipukji) bus tours !

(Meeting points are usually Ximending and Main Station)

✔️ Super Convenient for Airport Travel !

The hotel building is directly connected to the Kuo-Kuang Airport Bus (1819) boarding area,

so on the last night, catching the airport bus was

incredibly easy – no need to even look for directions !

✔️ Safe and Secure Environment

It's a residence-style accommodation utilizing a luxury apartment building within a department store,

so having a security guard on each floor made it feel even more reliable.

Plus, there's a police station right next door,

so I felt completely safe even wandering around at night. 💖

2. Check-in Process, Standard Room Check-in (+Room Upgrade,,!)

I went to the check-in counter, showed my passport,

and confirmed my reservation.

Even though I booked the most basic room,

the staff member told me they upgraded me to a high-floor room

with a great view! 🥹👍

Since Master Hotel is a residence-style hotel,

the room numbers within the building vary slightly.

So, a staff member kindly accompanied me from the check-in counter

to my room, explaining how everything worked. (About a 30-second walk)

✔️ Spacious High-Floor Room with a View

When I took the elevator up and entered the room...

honestly, I was just expecting a clean room with a basic bed,

but I was genuinely surprised to see a wide-open, high-floor view! It was truly amazing!

Such cleanliness and a high-floor view for a price in the early ~$73 range...

And get this, I could even see the Grand Hotel (Yuanshan Hotel) in the distance!

Instead of staying in a cramped and stuffy ~$146 to ~$219 accommodation in Ximending,

I thought to myself, I'll definitely choose this place again for my next trip.

The room was incredibly spacious, so I had plenty of room to spread out and relax.

The drip coffee provided here was so delicious,

I even searched for ways to buy it after returning to Korea.

The bathroom was also impeccably clean,

with absolutely nothing to fault.

3. The check-in counter was a bit tricky to find

The only slightly disappointing thing was that

since there weren't many reviews for this hotel on Naver,

I was a bit confused when I first tried to find the check-in counter!

But don't you worry! 🥹

I've marked the exact location of the check-in counter for you.

If you head to the location on the Google Map above, directly opposite subway exit Y1,

you'll find the Master Hotel entrance. 😊

4. Wrap-up and Price Comparison

I booked this Taipei hotel based purely on its location and price, without even searching on Naver,

and I had a truly satisfying stay.

For checkout, simply drop your card key...

All we had to do was leave them in our room.

Finally, let's talk about prices! I did a little comparison across different platforms,

On that particular day, Agoda offered a better deal,

so I highly recommend checking it out if you're searching for a value-for-money hotel

near Taipei Main Station!

And here's a tip: if you search for 'Izakaya' in the area,

you'll discover a treasure trove of spots overflowing with local charm and ambiance.

Before catching our early morning flight, we even managed to squeeze in one last late-night snack

at a nearby Izakaya. The atmosphere was incredible, and the food was delicious –

it's a place I still remember fondly! Haha.

With a final thought: this "residence-style hotel" truly offered

quality that exceeded expectations for its affordable price point!
