My main goal was to catch the famous Singapore sunset,

so I timed my visit accordingly.

After checking the local weather app for the exact sunset time,

I headed up to the deck around 7:10 PM.

​

This timing is perfect because it allows you to enjoy

the daytime views, the golden hour, and the dazzling night skyline

all in one visit.​

​

As the sun began to dip on one side of the deck,

the opposite side was still bathed in daylight.

You can see the ocean dotted with ships in the distance,

and get a spectacular bird's-eye view of

Gardens by the Bay and the Supertree Grove.

Once the sun finally sets,

the city lights begin to flicker on one by one.

This is when the real magic happens.

The transformation into a glittering metropolis is stunning.​

At exactly 7:45 PM,

you can watch the Garden Rhapsody (Supertree show)

right from the observation deck.

While you can't hear the music from up here,

watching the colorful, pulsing lights of the Supertrees

from above offers a completely different perspective

than standing directly beneath them.

Then, at 8:00 PM,

the Spectra Light & Water Show kicks off

in the bay right in front of Marina Bay Sands.

The music travels surprisingly well up to the 56th floor,

making it a fantastic spot to enjoy the fountain show.​

There are restrooms available right on the observation deck.

They are just as pristine as high-end mall facilities,

so you can comfortably stay up there

for hours enjoying the view.

You'll also find seating areas scattered around the deck.

It's nice to take a break, sit back,

and watch the world go by from above.

One crucial thing to note: during heavy rain or lightning,

the outdoor deck will temporarily close.

Since Singapore's tropical downpours are usually brief,

just wait it out indoors

and you'll be allowed back out once it clears up.​

How to Get to the

Because the Marina Bay Sands complex is massive,

finding the specific entrance to the SkyPark can be a bit tricky.

I took the MRT and

got off at Bayfront Station.

Instead of heading towards The Shoppes (the mall),

make sure you walk toward the

Marina Bay Sands Hotel & SkyPark signs.

and follow them straight there.​

Entry Process

​

Once you take the escalator down,

you'll see the on-site ticketing counters.

Since I had already purchased my tickets online,

I simply scanned my QR code voucher and walked right in.

From there, a high-speed elevator whisks you

straight up to the 56th floor.

​

A fun bonus: right before you board the elevator,

staff will take your photo.

You get 5 digital photos and a short animation video,

which you can download online later for free.

It's fully included in the ticket price,

making it a great souvenir to share with friends and family.​
