Los Manueles has several locations throughout Granada. I visited the branch right in front of the Cathedral, which boasts the highest ratings on Google – and for good reason! It was one of the tapas spots recommended by my hotel staff, and it ended up being my favorite, thanks to their exceptional hospitality.

2. Los Manueles Menu Highlights

While there were tables outside, they were all taken, so I opted for an indoor spot. I don't usually mind, but sitting outside does offer the bonus of enjoying your drink with a view of the magnificent Cathedral!

Once seated, I noticed a QR code at the table for the menu. After fumbling a bit with my phone, a kind server promptly brought over a physical menu. Gracias! We ordered our beers almost immediately, and our complimentary tapas arrived quickly.

It was a delicious, paella-like fried rice dish – absolutely flavorful! Since we ordered two drinks, they generously served a slightly larger portion of this tasty rice.

3. My Experience at Los Manueles

While you could easily fill up on the complimentary tapas that come with your drinks, we usually like to order a few extra dishes to get a fuller experience. So, we decided to try a few light bites.

Albóndiga / Croqueta / Berenjenas Fritas con miel de caña

The Albóndiga (Spanish meatball) is a classic. I'm not usually a huge fan of this dish, but you can order them individually, and as you can see, they're quite large – about the size of a fist! It was decent, but not particularly mind-blowing, with a rather mild flavor.

In the middle, we have the Croqueta (Spanish croquette). You'll find this dish at most tapas bars, and the flavors vary widely, so it's always fun to try them wherever you go. They're typically made with a creamy béchamel sauce and often include ham, meat, or cod. They're incredibly smooth and rich! I'm quite fond of croquettes, but the ones here were just average. I actually discovered an amazing croquette hotspot elsewhere, which I'll definitely share in a future post!

The dish on the far right, Berenjenas Fritas con miel de caña, is fried eggplant drizzled with a sweet cane honey. Who doesn't love fried eggplant? It's a familiar, comforting flavor and absolutely perfect as a snack with a cold beer. I ordered the half-size, and I still can't imagine how massive the full portion must be – definitely stick with the half!

This was another complimentary tapa that arrived when I ordered a second soda. It's called Migas, a dish made from fried breadcrumbs, and to be honest, it wasn't quite to my taste. I picked at the accompanying Padrón peppers and chorizo but left most of the Migas. It was a fun surprise, though – the server explained it was a bonus for ordering another drink!

My bill, including several food items, came out to just over 19 Euros, which is roughly ~$21 (as of August 2026). That's incredibly affordable, isn't it? We went for lunch, so we ordered a few dishes, but if you just stick to drinks and the free tapas, you could enjoy a delicious meal for about half that price!

While Granada's tapas culture is undeniably charming, I've sometimes felt that the overall quality and flavor of the food don't quite match up to neighboring cities like Seville or Malaga. Of course, there's also a significant price difference to consider.

However, Los Manueles stood out as the friendliest place I visited in Granada, with a diverse menu that makes it perfect for enjoying more than just the complimentary tapas. I highly recommend it!

One common issue in many popular tapas bars is that they can get incredibly crowded, making it hard to get a server's attention. But during my daytime visit to Los Manueles, there were plenty of staff members circulating, making it easy to catch their eye and place orders. It was a much more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
