Fukuoka Hakata Hotel: A Great Value Accommodation Pick
The Lively at Nakasu Station

When you're exploring Fukuoka, hopping between various spots throughout the day, the location of your accommodation is incredibly important, isn't it? The place I'm excited to tell you about this time is The Lively Fukuoka Hakata, nestled right in the heart of Nakasu. It's super close to the subway station and shopping areas, and it's thoughtfully equipped with everything from comfy rooms to a welcoming lounge, delicious breakfast, and even a happy hour! It's truly a top pick for a value-for-money stay in Fukuoka, allowing you to enjoy your trip to the fullest, not just somewhere to sleep.

The Lively is just a 1-minute walk from Nakasukawabata Station on the Airport Line, making it super convenient even when you're rolling your luggage. You can reach it in about 10 minutes by taxi from Hakata Station, and roughly 20 minutes from Fukuoka Airport.

2. Why I Recommend This Fukuoka Hotel for Great Value

The main reason I recommend The Lively Fukuoka Hakata as a fantastic value-for-money accommodation is, above all, its **outstanding location**.
Ichiran Ramen Main Store and Don Quijote Nakasu Store are both nearby, making it super convenient for dining and shopping all at once. Plus, Canal City is just a short walk away!
While hotel rates vary depending on your stay dates, the prices are surprisingly good. Considering its central Nakasu accessibility and all the fantastic services you can enjoy within the hotel, it truly stands out as a top value-for-money accommodation among Fukuoka Hakata hotels.
On a weekday I checked in August, rooms were available for around ~$62 to ~$69.

What's more, a **happy hour** is held daily from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM exclusively for guests. You can enjoy beer, homemade lemon sour, highballs, and other beverages **without any extra charge**, making it a perfect spot to relax before your evening plans.

Using happy hour is simple! Just show your room key to the staff. You can pick up your drinks at the 1st-floor bar and then enjoy them in the 2nd-floor lounge.
3. Standard Twin Room: Perfect for Friends or Family Trips

The **Standard Twin Room** features two 120cm semi-double beds side-by-side, which was absolutely perfect for a family of three. I found that having two semi-double beds pushed together felt much more comfortable when traveling with a child than a single, awkwardly sized double bed.

The shower room, toilet, and washbasin are all separated, which makes getting ready for a day out with friends or family incredibly convenient. It's perfect for 2-3 people, making it ideal for trips with friends or even family vacations with young children, just like mine!

The rooms are thoughtfully equipped with a 43-inch TV, mini-fridge, safe, electric kettle, mugs, and tumblers. Instead of bottled water, you can grab a tumbler and fill it up at the water purifier located right by the elevators – a thoughtful, eco-friendly touch! For toiletries like toothbrushes, hairbrushes, cotton swabs, and razors, simply pick up what you need from the amenity bar on the first floor.

I was a little worried about the room being too small, as can sometimes be the case with Japanese hotels, but there was plenty of space to open up our suitcases on the floor without any hassle. Plus, having hangers readily available for our coats was a convenient bonus!
4. Lounge, Café & Bar

The 1st-floor lobby boasts an open, airy interior complemented by stunning seasonal flower art, making it a wonderful spot for snapping some memorable photos.

At THE LIVELY BAR, which operates as a café during the day and a bar in the evening, you can even savor an Açaí Berry Lassi (*price: 800 JPY) during the summer season. Made with yogurt from Itoshima, it offered a delightful blend of sweetness and refreshing tang.

Every day from 5 PM to 7 PM, the Sound Sake Stand opens, inviting you to enjoy music, sake, and local Fukuoka cuisine. From 5:30 PM, DJ performances and happy hour overlap, creating the perfect atmosphere to sip drinks and groove to the music.
Menu items like Aburi Mentaiko (seared pollack roe), Mentaiko Manju, and pork skewers are available starting from the 300 JPY range, allowing you to soak in Nakasu's nightlife vibe without having to venture far.
5. Breakfast

For me, the crown jewel of any hotel stay is breakfast! I always make sure to add breakfast whenever I travel, and here's the breakfast operating information for THE LIVELY HAKATA FUKUOKA:
THE LIVELY HAKATA FUKUOKA Breakfast | |
Operating Hours | (Part 1) 7:00 AM ~ 8:30 AM (Part 2) 8:30 AM ~ 9:00 AM |
Last Entry | Entry until 9:00 AM Available until 10:00 AM |

Breakfast consists of appetizers made with fresh local ingredients and a choice of Japanese or Western main dishes, with one main dish needing to be selected. Our family ordered one Western and one Japanese dish, and they were presented so beautifully, just like at any high-end restaurant – the visual appeal alone was a complete winner!

Coffee, tea, and juice are freely available, and there's even a matcha dessert buffet, so you can start your day feeling fully satisfied. The additional cost for breakfast is 2,500 yen per person, but since I booked a plan that included breakfast when I made my hotel reservation, I didn't have to pay anything extra on site.

From The Lively Hotel, it's about a 5-minute walk to Ichiran Ramen's main branch. In the evening, you can even catch performances happening in front of the main branch and enjoy ramen as a late-night snack – perfect! Don Quijote Nakasu is also within walking distance and operates 24 hours, making it super convenient for shopping late at night or before your departure. Plus, you can find a variety of souvenirs available for purchase right at the hotel, which was fun to browse.
If you're looking to enjoy Fukuoka's tourism, gourmet delights, and shopping all within easy reach, then The Lively Hakata is an incredibly attractive choice.
