When booking my accommodation in Florence, I wanted something right in the middle—not too cheap, but not overly expensive. B&B Hotel Laurus al Duomo hit the absolute sweet spot, delivering well above average on both location and views.
3 Reasons International Travelers Will Love It Here
+ Bonus: Elevators and crisp, reliable AC are standard!

I paid for this stay entirely out of pocket, and
my satisfaction actually grew after checking out of the
Laurus al Duomo Hotel!
Let me break down exactly why in this detailed review. :D

1. Location and Safety: Why I Chose It
The Laurus isn't right on top of the central train station,
but rather perfectly situated halfway between the station and the main attractions.
I spent my first two nights at a hotel right next to the central station. When walking back from the city center,
adding that extra 10-minute walk to the station felt
surprisingly exhausting.
Staying here saves your legs big time!

I never had to use public transit in Florence.
Aside from taking a bus from the central station to Piazzale Michelangelo,
everything was completely walkable from the hotel!
Distances to major attractions:

The area in front of the hotel is well-lit, and even after
10:00 PM, I never felt unsafe walking around.
Another massive perk for iced coffee lovers: there's a Starbucks
right next door, which was a huge advantage for me!

They provide 4 bottles of water for a 2-night stay,
but the lobby also sells Fanta Orange (highly recommend the European version!), water, wine, and beer
at reasonable prices, which was super convenient.
There's an ice machine right next to the beverage fridge,
so you can easily grab ice to keep your water or drinks perfectly chilled!

The hotel has 2 elevators, so I never had to wait long,
and the in-room air conditioning was wonderfully strong!
Basic Information

Check-in: 2:30 PM / Check-out: 12:00 PM
Breakfast: 7:00 AM - 10:30 AM (Breakfast box available)
City Tax: €7 per person, per night
Laundry & Parking: Available
My room rate included breakfast.
On days when I had to leave early for tours, they kindly
packed a breakfast box for me, which was super helpful!!
2. Room Conditions
Superior Room
Being a 4-star hotel, you can really tell the
rooms are exceptionally well-maintained.

First off, the bedding was crisp and fresh, and the AC was delightfully cold!
The pillows weren't overly high, and the mattress was firm enough
that I slept like a baby after a long day of walking. Haha.
The bedside tables were perfect for charging devices overnight.

The room itself is quite spacious.
Even with two large 28-inch suitcases fully opened, there was plenty of room.
The TV also has YouTube, which was great for winding down in the evening.

There's a nice desk area inside, perfect for catching up on some work,
or using it as a makeup station with your luggage nearby!
They don't provide a small hand mirror, so if you need one
for getting ready, I recommend packing your own.
They provided 4 small bottles of water for my 2-night stay,
and the water tasted fine, so it kept me well-hydrated! Haha

There are plenty of hangers, a safe, and a dedicated
luggage rack. Everything in the room is laid out
practically to make your stay comfortable!

The bathroom is also quite large, making it very comfortable to shower!
Both water pressure and temperature were excellent. Haha

Best of all, they provide extra towels right from the start,
which is a lifesaver when you want to take multiple showers on hot summer days!
Of course, you can request more during daily housekeeping.
3. Prices & How to Book
Given the amazing location, views, and facilities,
the average price is around ~$250 to ~$270 per night!
(During weekends and peak seasons, it can go up to ~$300 to ~$380).
When I compared it to other properties in the area, the price difference wasn't
huge, especially considering breakfast is included.

After doing some extensive comparisons for 2026 dates,
the best rates I found were on the platforms below.
I personally booked through Trip.com, which had the lowest price at the time!
*Rates based on 1 night for 2 adults (Friday, 08/28)
Trip.com | Agoda |
~$244 → ~$220 | ~$268 |

If you use promotional discounts on
Trip.com, it currently offers the cheapest rate!!!
(These are often limited-time offers).
If the promo ends, using platform-specific discount coupons
is your next best bet to save some cash. Haha

To give you a bit more detail:
These discounts often apply to other hotels too,
offering up to 12% off (capped at around ~$23),
which is a pretty solid savings rate. Haha
Here's a pro tip:
Many of these coupons can be used once per day per person with no minimum spend.
If you're booking hotels in other cities besides Florence, applying the coupon daily
can save you a lot of money overall! :)
4. Breakfast Review
Breakfast was included in the stay, and it was a great way to
cut down on Europe's notoriously high food costs! Haha

There is an outdoor seating area with a view of the Duomo,
but the indoor seating was much cooler and more comfortable!

They offer over 10 varieties of pastries.
All the baked goods were delicious, but I highly recommend the croissants!
There's also a great selection of yogurt and cereals
with various toppings, so you won't get bored eating it every morning.

The beverage station features coffee, orange juice, and more,
making for a relaxing morning routine!

The hot food section includes scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, and ham—
a classic European hotel breakfast spread.
While the variety isn't massive, it's perfect for a light, tasty morning meal
and definitely hit the spot!
Don't miss the fruit section right above the cheeses!
They usually have 3-4 types of fruit.
The peaches are absolutely incredible—you have to try them!

Here's a little insider tip:
Before heading to breakfast, grab a cup of ice from the lobby machine.
You can pull an espresso shot from the breakfast coffee machine over the ice
to make your own iced Americano! Haha
I stayed at two different hotels in Florence,
and this one was definitely my favorite, which is why
I'm sharing it first. :D
If room condition and a central location are top priorities for you,
definitely check this place out!
