from eligible regions and discount rates to maximum support amounts,

What is the Kyushu Revival Support Discount?

The Kyushu Revival Support Discount is a special travel assistance program launched by the Japanese government

to revitalize tourism demand in the Kyushu region, which saw a decline after the 2026 Kumamoto earthquake.

Following the earthquake, there were numerous accommodation cancellations across Kyushu, including Kumamoto.

To help recover tourism, the government decided to subsidize a portion of travel and accommodation expenses.

This incredible support applies to travel and accommodation packages that include at least one overnight stay in the Kyushu region.

Stays from October 1, 2026, will be eligible for the discount,

and specific discount periods will be announced separately by each prefecture.

Fukuoka Accommodation Discount Up to 50%

Naturally, the burning question on everyone's mind is the discount rate!

Fukuoka, along with Saga, Nagasaki, Oita, and Miyazaki,

will offer a generous 50% subsidy on travel and accommodation expenses.

This means your Fukuoka adventures, plus visits to Yufuin and Beppu

(both located in Oita Prefecture), are also eligible for the fantastic up to 50% discount!

So, if you're envisioning a Kyushu trip with 1-2 nights in Fukuoka,

then exploring Yufuin or Beppu, this is a brilliant chance to significantly lighten your accommodation expenses.

For Kumamoto and Kagoshima, the discount rate is even more enticing!

These two regions are set to support a remarkable 60% of travel and accommodation costs.

To sum it up: Fukuoka, Saga,

Nagasaki, Oita, and Miyazaki receive a fantastic 50% discount,

while Kumamoto and Kagoshima enjoy an even more substantial 60%.

How Much Can You Save on Kyushu Accommodation Discounts?

While the discount rates are an impressive 50-60%, it's important to note that there's a maximum discount amount per person, which varies depending on the type of travel package.

Each person can receive a maximum discount, determined by the specific travel product.

For accommodation-only bookings or one-night travel packages that include transportation, you can receive up to ¥20,000 per person.

For travel packages including transportation with two or more nights,

the support goes up to ¥30,000 per person. And for multi-prefecture touring packages that include stays

in two or more prefectures, you can enjoy an incredible discount of up to ¥35,000 per person.

For instance, if your itinerary involves exploring multiple prefectures like Fukuoka and Oita,

it’s a great idea to keep an eye out for the specific conditions of multi-prefecture touring packages when they are announced.

However, please remember that the actual discount amount can vary based on the package price, its components,

and the detailed conditions announced by each region.

Fukuoka, Yufuin, Beppu – Are They Also Discounted?

Absolutely! Both Yufuin and Beppu are located in Oita Prefecture,

and Oita is proudly included in the Kyushu Revival Support Discount, offering a fantastic 50% subsidy.

then enjoying an overnight ryokan stay in Yufuin, or even exploring Beppu's hot springs, simply check for eligible packages and book away!

As of September 2, 2026, the specific reservation start date for the Kyushu Revival Support Discount

has not yet been announced.

While the discount is set to apply to stays from October 1st onwards,

the exact start date for taking reservations, which accommodations will participate, and how the discount will be applied

are all expected to be announced separately by each prefecture.

through travel agencies,

or if it will be offered as discount coupons on accommodation booking sites

will be eligible for the discount.

However, whether existing reservations will be retroactively applied

has also not yet been officially announced.

Details such as whether accommodations booked before the reservation start date

will be eligible for the discount, or if you'll need to cancel your existing booking

and rebook, will need to be confirmed
