Looking to travel from Gangneung to Bujeon Station in Busan?
Here's my detailed review of riding the KTX Eum in a standard class seat.
I've covered everything you need to know about the Gangneung-Bujeon KTX journey, including booking methods, the 2026 timetable, travel duration, ticket prices, station stops, seating hacks, and even where to find power outlets and wireless chargers on the KTX!

Gangneung to Bujeon: The KTX Eum Experience
When planning my trip from Gangneung to Busan,
I weighed my options:
✔ Take a high-speed bus, or
✔ Hop on the KTX train?
Ultimately, I chose the KTX for a few key reasons:
✔ Trains typically run on schedule with fewer delays.
✔ Restroom access is much more convenient and comfortable.
It's important to note that KTX trains from Gangneung Station don't go directly to Busan Station (the main station). Instead, they arrive at Bujeon Station. Keep this in mind for your onward travel plans!

Because there are so few daily departures, tickets, especially for weekends, tend to sell out quickly. I highly recommend booking your seats as soon as your travel dates are firm!
With a journey time of approximately 4 hours, it's quite a long ride. I definitely suggest bringing some light snacks and drinks to keep you comfortable throughout the trip! (Trust me, sitting for that long, you'll appreciate a little pick-me-up!)

Power Outlets, Wireless Chargers, and Best Seating Tips
You'll be happy to know that every seat on the KTX Eum comes equipped with a power outlet, and even wireless chargers are available at every seat! So, even if you forget your charger, you can still keep your phone powered up.
And here's a fantastic tip for choosing your seat: try to snag a window seat on the left side of the train. This will give you access to stunning views of the beautiful East Sea (Donghae) coastline along the way!
(While it's a long journey, just staring out at the ocean is incredibly therapeutic and makes the time fly by. It's truly a blissful experience! 💗💗)
