How to Book Korean Air KE011/KE012 (Incheon to LA)
I booked directly through the official Korean Air app.
It makes seat selection a breeze and lets you track your SKYPASS mileage instantly.
While third-party aggregators like Skyscanner are great for comparisons,
booking direct is usually the safest bet for securing mileage accruals and easy changes.
Flight Duration & Ticket Prices
Incheon (ICN) → Los Angeles (LAX): Approx. 11 hours 10 minutes
Los Angeles (LAX) → Incheon (ICN): Approx. 13 hours 10 minutes
✔ My itinerary was as follows:
Wednesday departure at 08:25 PM from Incheon (KE011)
Friday departure at 11:20 PM from Los Angeles (KE012)
The round-trip economy fare came out to ~$1,089.
Keep in mind that airfares fluctuate heavily based on seasonality and how far in advance you book!

Flights bound for the US are subject to random Secondary Security Screening Selection (SSSS).
I happened to get selected this time and underwent an extra security check right at the gate.

The aircraft for KE011 is the iconic Boeing 747-8i, configured in a 3-4-3 layout in economy.

I sat in seat 62B.
The legroom felt surprisingly generous, and having a bit of extra side space made it a highly recommended seat.

Before boarding,
you can grab complimentary in-flight wired earphones near the entrance.

The personal seatback screen features a great selection of recent movies, TV shows, and flight tracking.
With a USB port on the screen and a universal power outlet under the seat,
keeping my devices charged was never an issue.

The lavatories were kept exceptionally clean,
stocked with hand soap, paper towels, and refreshing mist.

At your seat, you'll find a basic amenity kit containing a blanket, pillow, bottled water, slippers, and a toothbrush set.

For the first meal service,
the choices were Korean-style spicy pork bulgogi with cold acorn jelly soup, a Western beef stew, or Chinese-style Mapo tofu.
I naturally went with the Korean bulgogi, and it was delicious!

Mid-flight, a galley snack bar is set up.
You can freely grab warm hot pockets, sandwiches, and chips.
They also offer a full beverage service including beer, wine, and spirits to help you unwind.

For the second meal service before landing,
the options were a comforting Korean vegetable porridge or a classic Western omelet.

Korean Air KE012 Los Angeles (LAX) to Incheon (ICN) Flight Review
At LAX, check-in opened exactly 3 hours prior to departure.
Bag drop and security clearance went incredibly smoothly.
Our return flight to Korea was also on the Boeing 747-8i, featuring the same 3-4-3 seating configuration.

This time, I booked seat 37H.
It's located in the forward section of economy right behind the exit row, offering fantastic legroom.

The seat layout, entertainment screens, USB ports, and power outlets were identical to the outbound flight.

In-flight Meals & Amenities
Just like the outbound leg, the standard amenity kit (blanket, pillow, water bottle, slippers, and toothbrush) was waiting at my seat.

For the first meal, we could choose between Korean Bibimbap, Western beef with mustard cream sauce, or a Thai-style vegetable curry.
I chose the Bibimbap, which is always a signature favorite on Korean Air.

The mid-flight snack bar was set up exactly like the outbound flight, making it easy to grab refreshments whenever hunger struck.

The second meal service offered a choice between a Western-style tomato sauce omelet or a light European continental breakfast.

Overall, my journey on Korean Air KE011 and KE012 was highly satisfying.
From the legendary cabin service and delicious meals to the seat comfort, it made the long-haul flight very manageable.
