Whenever I travel to Fukuoka, it's a place I always find myself returning to:
Kiwamiya Hambagu
While many other delicious hamburg steak restaurants have popped up recently,
perhaps because of the memory of my very first time eating it in Fukuoka,
it's a place I inexplicably feel fond of,
and I end up going back even if the wait is long.
I'll be sharing my review of Kiwamiya Hambagu,
along with some of their special summer event menus!
1. Kiwamiya Hambagu

There are only
three Kiwamiya Hambagu locations in Fukuoka.
That's why no matter which branch you visit,
there's usually a wait!
Among them, the branch with the longest wait time is
the main store on the 1st floor of Hakata Bus Terminal.
This time, I visited right at opening, but the line was still long,
and it was so hot that I really didn't want to wait outside 🤣
So, I decided to check out the underground branch instead.
The line was significantly shorter there,
and since it's indoors, you're not affected by the weather,
making the wait much more comfortable.

I highly recommend using Kiwamiya Hambagu's underground branch!
2. Menu

• Hambagu & Special Beef Set (M size) 2,468 yen
• Side Set (Rice, Miso Soup, Salad, Ice Cream) 450 yen ⭐

If you eat it with sides like rice or salad,
the M size alone is
more than enough to fill you up,
You can order side dishes individually, but
I recommend ordering the set.
It includes rice, miso soup, salad, and ice cream,
and it's refillable, making it
better value for money than ordering each item separately.
There's also a separate drink menu for your reference.

This menu is only available until August 31st.
3. Review
An apron, wet wipes, chopsticks, and water were
neatly prepared on the table,
and shortly after, the side set I ordered
and a refreshing beer were quickly served.
I ordered the M-sized hamburg steak,
and the basement branch gave me two grilling stones,
so I could cook it even faster.
If the stone cools down, you can just ask a staff member to replace it.
At your seat, you'll find metal chopsticks and wooden chopsticks.
Two types are provided:
when you're tearing off pieces of meat to grill, use the metal chopsticks,
and for eating your meal, stick with the wooden ones.
Since the oil can splatter everywhere,
make sure to wear the apron,
and definitely don't leave your phone on the table!
As for your bags or personal belongings, you can place them on the shelf above,
as that area is safe from oil splatters, so no worries there.
You can cook it to your own preference,
but since it's best to cook hamburg steak thoroughly all the way through,
I recommend cooking it well-done if possible.
So moist and juicy, it was incredibly delicious ㅠ 🥹
While eating the hamburg steak, you'll find yourself craving more rice,
and the crisp salad is so good you'll keep eating it!
That's why I ended up refilling all the sides while I was eating.
When you want to refill your side dishes,
you can say OO Okawari Onegaishimasu.
Rice (ご飯) = Gohan
Salad (サラダ) = Sarada
Miso Soup (お味噌汁) = Omisoshiru
All (全部) = Zenbu
After I finished eating, a staff member cleared the table,
and then brought out soft-serve ice cream.
It was sweet and refreshing, perfectly cleansing my palate after the rich meal.
Located right in Hakata Bus Terminal,
it has excellent accessibility.
It's also a fantastic spot to grab a meal before heading to the airport.

According to an article, the line at Kiwamiya Hakata Station Underground branch is much shorter than at the main branch on the 1st floor of Hakata Bus Terminal. The underground store is indoors, so you can wait comfortably without being affected by the weather, making it ideal for hot summers or cold winters.
The M-size hamburg steak is ~$9, and the M-size special beef steak is ~$12. The side set costs ~$3 and includes rice, miso soup, salad, and ice cream, all with unlimited refills.
There's an alcoholic happy hour from 3 PM to 6 PM where you can enjoy highball, lemon sour, and peach sour for ~$2 each. Additionally, a summer limited-time event offering a beef and draft beer set for ~$7 runs until August 31st, from 4 PM to 9 PM.
At the underground branch, two hot stones are provided to quickly cook your hamburg steak. Since oil may splatter, it's recommended to wear an apron, avoid placing your phone on the table, and store bags or personal belongings on the overhead shelf. Side dishes such as rice, miso soup, and salad are available for unlimited refills.
