If you're planning a trip to Taipei, Taiwan, chances are you've already heard whispers about Kari Donut. It's a local favorite that often pops up on must-try food lists!
Today, I'm excited to share details about the Zhongxiao branch of Kari Donut, where you can savor their famous Milk Donuts – a truly essential Taiwanese snack experience!

Kari Donut used to have a location near Taipei Main Station, but that branch is now closed. To enjoy their delicious milk donuts, you'll need to head to the Zhongxiao branch.
📍 The Zhongxiao branch is situated on the first floor of a commercial building, about a 5-minute walk from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT Station. I actually had a bit of trouble finding it using Google Maps alone, as its exact spot can be tricky to pinpoint.
Follow my directions below, and you won't get lost!
As you walk from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT Station, keep an eye out for a coin laundry on the first floor of the building where Kari Donut is located.
Turn left at the coin laundry, walking around the corner and into the commercial building. You should spot Kari Donut within about a minute!
Knowing that it's tucked away inside a commercial area rather than directly on the main road will save you from getting lost, like I did initially!
Given Kari Donut's reputation, I was expecting a long line, but thankfully, there wasn't any wait when I visited. The shop itself is small and only offers takeout – no seating inside.
📍 For those interested, donuts with fillings like red bean are available at specific times: 11:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM. Unfortunately, my timing didn't align, so I only got to try the original milk donut!
✅ The Kari Milk Donut costs 25 TWD per piece, which is an incredibly affordable price, around ~$1.
We ordered just one Kari Milk Donut. It was freshly fried and generously coated with a delicious yellow milk powder. The warmth of the freshly made donut definitely heightened my anticipation!
The Kari Milk Donut was surprisingly large for its price. Just be careful while eating it, as the powdered sugar can easily get on your clothes!
The combination of the sweet milk powder and the donut's delightfully chewy yet crispy texture was absolutely perfect. It's easy to see why it's so popular.
Eating it warm right after it was made really enhanced that wonderful chewy texture. The milk powder also offered just the right amount of sweetness, making it enjoyable even for those who aren't big fans of overly sugary treats.
However, if there's a super long line, I wouldn't say it's worth an extensive wait. But if you find yourself nearby with no queue, definitely grab one to try!
The Kari Milk Donut is definitely a Taiwanese snack worth trying if you're visiting Taipei. Its crispy exterior, chewy interior, and the sweet, milky goodness of the powder make it clear why it's such a beloved treat.
That said, I don't think it's a destination in itself if you have to wait a long time or go significantly out of your way. But if you're in the area or have a deep love for donuts, it's absolutely worth a stop!

Kari Donut Zhongxiao branch is located on the 1st floor of a shopping arcade, a 5-minute walk from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT Station. Turn left at the corner next to the coin laundry, and you'll find it within a minute. It's inside the arcade, not directly on the main road.
Kari Donut Zhongxiao branch operates from 11:00 AM to 7:10 PM, with no days off. Filled donuts, such as red bean, are released at three times: 11:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM.
