Something you absolutely have to experience on your trip to Shanghai, China, is
the incredibly affordable Shanghai massage!
The spot I checked out this time is conveniently located right in the heart of Nanjing East Road,
📍Shanghai Kangdao Massage.

While many travelers often head to Taoyuanxiang,
I chose Kangdao after seeing reviews that raved about its better quality and more affordable prices compared to Taoyuanxiang!
So, I made a reservation in advance and decided to check it out.
While walk-ins are certainly an option,
booking in advance can get you an incredible 50% or more off the price!
Today, I'm excited to share my #MyOwnMoneyMyOwnReview of Shanghai massage, along with
some fantastic tips on how to snag a discount when booking.
In this post, we'll dive into:
✔️ Shanghai Massage Recommended Booking Prices |
✔️ How to Get to Kangdao Massage (Location) |
✔️ My Own Money, My Own Review of Kangdao Shanghai Massage |
✔️ Tips for Discounted Shanghai Massage Bookings |
and more!
1. Shanghai Massage Recommendations & Booking Prices for Your China Trip
Now, you might be thinking, "Massage in Shanghai, China? Isn't that more for Southeast Asia?"
But trust me, if you're on a trip to China,
the prices are much more affordable than in Korea, making it a truly worthwhile experience.

You'll find prices that are about ~$7 to ~$15 cheaper than in Korea,
making it an incredibly reasonable deal!
To secure these amazing prices,
advance booking is an absolute must! ✔️✔️

Especially for Shanghai massage spots located around Nanjing East Road,
the difference between advance booking prices and walk-in rates is truly significant.

I opted for the much cheaper advance booking, and when I actually arrived,
I found that a foot massage was around ~$44, and a full-body massage was about ~$58.
That's a price difference of over ~$22!
✅✅✅ Advance Booking Price: Around ~$22

I booked my session through Klook, which offered the absolute best prices.

you can score even more discounts!

2. Why I Chose Kangdao Massage Over Taoyuanxiang
Honestly, when it comes to Shanghai massages, Taoyuanxiang is a popular choice for many.
However, I had three compelling reasons for picking Kangdao Massage instead:

1️⃣ More Affordable Prices
2️⃣ A Clean and Bright Ambiance
3️⃣ Raving Reviews
4️⃣ Open Late
Taoyuanxiang actually had a slightly darker ambiance,
but Kangdao, where I went, had a bright, wood-toned interior that I much preferred!
The price also had a slight difference,
but Kangdao seemed to be about ~$2-3 cheaper!!

And what was awesome is that you can book up until the day before your visit,
and reservations are open until 11:59 PM!
This meant I could go right after a long day at Disneyland.
(A foot massage at times like this is an absolute lifesaver 👍)
3. How to Get to Kangdao Massage

Here's where you'll find Shanghai Kangdao Massage.
On Gaode Maps, just drag and enter the name below.
康道天地(南京东路)
If you get a little lost, just look for Miniso Land on Nanjing East Road.
You'll find it in the building right behind it!

Sandwiched between Miniso Land and the Radisson Collection Hotel,
you'll find an alleyway. Head in there, and you can take the elevator
straight up to the massage shop!

From here, just head up to the 11th floor!
4. My Honest Review of Kangdao Shanghai Massage (Paid For By Me!)
The massage spot I checked out during this Shanghai trip was
Kangdao Massage on Nanjing East Road.

The bright and luxurious wood-toned ambiance
immediately won me over.
When you tell the staff about your advance booking,
they'll confirm your name and guide you in.
Thankfully, they speak English, which made everything super easy!

There were three of us, and we booked one full body massage and two foot massages.
To our delight, they put us all in one private room!
(Which was actually even better!)
Even the foot massages could be enjoyed in a private, cozy space, which was fantastic.

If you do prefer separate rooms,
it might be a good idea to add a note to your reservation
when booking, specifically requesting them.

Before our treatment, they brought out a lovely selection of fruits and snacks,
and let me tell you, that tangerine was surprisingly delicious!
The foot massage started with a soothing foot bath,
followed by a gentle massage on my shoulders and back.
It was incredibly refreshing!

My masseuse was number 1.
I highly recommend number 1.
It was a treatment that used unique Chinese tea leaves,
and the warmth felt like it completely melted away the fatigue
from my feet after a long day at Disneyland.

Booking a Shanghai massage after Disneyland was an absolute stroke of genius...
I urge you to do it. Seriously, don't miss out!
If you're debating whether to get a massage during your Shanghai adventure,
I truly recommend you go for it without a second thought :)
