Experience the magic of Jinhae's Gyeonghwa Station, famed for its breathtaking cherry blossom tunnel. Capture stunning family memories at this iconic Korean spring destination.

The place I want to visit most right now is Jinhae Gunhangje, which I've already been to, but want to go back to! Most people enjoy the cherry blossoms during the day, so I'd love to see them at night with all the beautiful illuminations. This weekend seems to be the peak blooming period for Jinhae's cherry blossoms, making it the most breathtaking time to visit.
In my previous three posts, I introduced three must-visit cherry blossom spots at Jinhae Gunhangje.
2. Naval Academy: Military and shooting experience
Additionally: Naval Academy Museum and Turtle Ship Experience
Finally, I want to recommend Gyeonghwa Station as a fantastic photo spot!

Gunhangje Bus Routes

For those planning to visit Gunhangje this weekend, honestly, using your own car might be quite challenging. Here's information about the bus routes and dedicated bus lanes.
So far, I've summarized some key information about Gunhangje.
Gyeonghwa Station Cherry Blossom Trip Review
Now, let's dive into my weekday visit to Gyeonghwa Station during the Jinhae Gunhangje festival!
There's a residential area directly across from Gyeonghwa Station Park's entrance, so when I visited on a weekday, I was able to find a parking spot.
After just barely finding parking, I crossed the crosswalk and headed up to the entrance of Gyeonghwa Station Park.

Even on a weekday, the area around Gyeonghwa Station was quite busy with a lot of traffic and people, more so than other spots.

My second child already bought a gift to give to his girlfriend and put it in his hair!

Here's the cherry blossom situation at Gyeonghwa Station this past Monday.

I heard it's now a defunct station where trains no longer run.

I was really hoping to catch the cherry blossom petals scattering every time a train passed, but it's a little disappointing.

Gyeonghwa Station, a famous filming location for the hit show '1 Night 2 Days'

As you can see from the photos, even for a Monday, which is a weekday, there were quite a lot of people here compared to other spots we visited.

We got in line to snap some photos in front of the train.
As we slowly inched forward, the adorable miniature of Gyeonghwa Station caught my eye, and of course, I had to capture it with a photo!

I think we must have waited in line for over 30 minutes!

My uncle bought cotton candy for the kids!

Here's the picture we finally got in front of the Gyeonghwa Station train, after waiting in line for over 30 minutes!
While we were patiently waiting in that long queue to get our shot in front of the train, there were surprisingly many people just standing off to the side, snapping photos without a care.
I get it, I really do, but it was quite frustrating to see people just sidle up and start snapping photos, completely ignoring those of us who had been waiting patiently in a long line.
Many of the younger folks, in their 20s and 30s, who had been queuing and were just about to get their turn, even got angry and shouted for people to move, but some completely ignored them and just kept on clicking away.
At Gyeonghwa Station, there were also several performers entertaining the crowd.
It was a wonderful time, listening to music and admiring the cherry blossoms.
On our way out, we spotted a temporary stop for the city tour bus.

I've looked up and provided some information related to the city tour bus for you.

This weekend marks the grand finale of the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival!
I hope the information I've shared proves helpful, even if just a little.
To all my fellow explorers planning to visit, I wish you a safe and wonderful trip!
And so concludes Mellowtrip's family travelogue of Jinhae Gunhangje Festival at Gyeonghwa Station.
I'll be back with a travelogue from Tongyeong in the next post!
According to the article, there were parking spots available in the residential area directly across from the Gyeonghwa Station Park entrance on weekdays. However, it was mentioned that using a personal car might be difficult during the upcoming Jinhae Gunhangje Festival this weekend.

Yes, according to the article, even on a weekday (Monday), there was a lot of traffic congestion and many people compared to other cherry blossom spots. It is also known as a filming location for "2 Days & 1 Night."
