While planning my Fukuoka trip, I wanted to explore a unique small town, and that's when I discovered the incredibly beautiful Itoshima tour.

I loved that it was only a half-day tour, so I didn't have to dedicate an entire day. Plus, it was fantastic to explore these charming towns at an affordable price!

Detailed Bus Tour Review

The bus tour itinerary kicks off from Hakata Station!

One of the biggest perks of a bus tour is getting to visit places that would be challenging to reach on foot or via public transport, all while relaxing comfortably!

Itoshima offers a completely different vibe from central Fukuoka – it's a small town adventure!

We stopped by a salt workshop that sells salt and salt pudding made from salt harvested from Japan's cleanest sea. The seawater here is incredibly pristine, and there are absolutely no factories or anything else around!

With nothing else around, the crystal-clear, refreshing sea and bright blue sky were absolutely picture-perfect!

I also tried the salt pudding, a delicacy you can only taste here,

and bought various flavored salts as souvenirs to use in my cooking at home later! 😉 They make great gifts too, so I highly recommend picking some up!

Taking friendship photos with my friends and pictures in front of the sea, I completely fell in love with this place — its charm is so different from Fukuoka city!

Afterward, we set off for Sakurai Futamigaura and Palm Beach Garden.

Through the bus window, we saw the Meoto Iwa (Couple Rocks), named because they stand side-by-side, just like a married couple.

It’s one of Itoshima's iconic landmarks, attracting many tourists and locals alike!

It's even been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Coasts, with a truly stunning blend of sea and sky. It was such a beautiful place!

It was the perfect place to snap some 'photos of a lifetime' no matter how you angled your shot!

It was truly as pristine and refreshing as it looks in the photos,

so my friends and I actually took off our shoes and walked right in

to take pictures – it was a moment that forged unforgettable memories!

It really clicked for me why this spot is always a must-visit

on Fukuoka's small city bus tours.

Since then, whenever I visit Fukuoka,

I make sure to sign up for one of these incredible small-town bus tours!

While I was taking photos in front of the Couple Rocks,

a fellow traveler asked me to snap a picture for them.

I eagerly helped them out with some shots, and then we moved on to our next destination,

Palm Beach.

Actually, Palm Beach is only about a 15-minute walk, so while you could certainly take the bus, I opted to stroll and soak in the street views and charming cafes along the way.

This beach had a completely different vibe from the Itoshima Couple Rocks area,

almost making me feel like I’d been transported to Hawaii!

Many people actually come here for surfing and to witness the stunning sunset views,

plus, there's even a Hawaiian souvenir shop right by Palm Beach,

so you can browse souvenirs and enjoy some delicious gelato while gazing out at the ocean.

I also admired the vibrant murals and truly reveled in the beautiful natural landscapes,

a refreshing change from the city hustle.

Next, we headed to the famous Palm Tree Swing, but I totally forgot to snap any photos there myself, so I'm sharing a picture from a ticketing site instead ^^;; What was I thinking?!

Finally, we arrived at our last stop: Momochi Seaside Park,

one of Fukuoka's most iconic tourist destinations!!!!

If you opt for the afternoon half-day bus tour,

you'll be treated to the magnificent sight of Momochi Seaside Park,

bathed in the breathtaking hues of sunset.

The ambiance here only gets better as the sun dips below the horizon,

which is precisely why I wholeheartedly recommend the afternoon tour

for anyone with some flexibility in their schedule!

You can also choose to disembark here and freely explore Momochi Seaside Park at your own pace,

perhaps treating yourself to some delicious Blue Seal ice cream.

And since Fukuoka Tower is right next door, it's a fantastic opportunity to visit both together,

so make sure not to miss it!

This half-day adventure allowed me to experience the very best of Fukuoka's charming small towns,

hitting all the most beautiful spots concisely and memorably.

It truly made my Fukuoka trip even more fulfilling!
