Ishihara Gyu, nestled near Fukuoka's Ohori Park,
sources top-grade A5 Kuroge Wagyu from Kagoshima Prefecture,
promising an exquisite culinary experience.
From hamburg steaks bursting with juicy flavor
to melt-in-your-mouth wagyu steaks,
the tenderness and rich taste were truly exceptional –
a testament to the distinct quality of Japanese Wagyu.
If you're seeking an authentic Japanese Wagyu experience,
you absolutely have to visit Ishihara Gyu! Let me tell you all about it.
1. Ishihara

Business Hours | Wed ~ Mon 11:00 ~ 14:30 / 17:00 ~ 20:00 Closed every Tuesday |
It's about a 9-minute walk from Ohori Park
and just a 1-minute walk from Tojinmachi Station,
making it super accessible and easy to fit into your travel itinerary.
📍 Ishihara
Japan 〒810-0064 Fukuoka, Chuo Ward, Jigyō, 1-chōme−14−4 2F

Ishihara Gyu is a specialty steak and hamburg steak restaurant that
operates its own butcher shop, so you'll find a variety of meats displayed on the first floor.
This meant we could see the quality of the meat firsthand,
and the incredible marbling alone
naturally heightened our anticipation for the meal.

The second floor boasts a spacious dining area,
including seating for solo diners –
highly recommended if you're looking for a great spot for a meal for one in Fukuoka!
Since there were three of us, we opted for a table.

As we settled into our seats and looked around,
we noticed Japanese baseball players' uniforms and autographs
displayed everywhere.
We'd heard that many celebrities and baseball players frequent the spot,
and seeing all the memorabilia really brought home Ishihara Gyu's popularity.
Too bad Ohtani hasn't visited yet, though! LOL
2. Menu

The Korean menu is very well laid out,
so ordering is a breeze!
They offer a diverse range of dishes, including hamburg steaks, grilled beef, and chicken,
with portion sizes adjustable from 200g to 400g.
3. Fukuoka Wagyu Hotspot: The Taste Experience

If you order a steak,
you can add the 550 yen set menu,
which includes rice, soup, and salad.
It's a fantastic accompaniment to the Wagyu,
so I highly recommend adding it to your order.

Sirloin Steak 200g / 6,200 yen
The sirloin steak, visibly thick and juicy,
arrived sizzling invitingly on the hot plate.
It was grilled whole and uncut,
making it look even more appetizing.

The doneness was medium-rare,
and even though it was a thick cut,
the knife sliced through it with almost no effort,
allowing me to feel its tender texture from the very first cut.
Unlike the perfectly browned exterior of the steak,
the cross-section, brimming with a vibrant pink juiciness, was a true masterpiece

The sirloin steak was so tender it practically melted in my mouth,
and
true to its A5 Wagyu grade, it was incredibly rich in texture
The sauce was delightfully sweet and savory, with a deep umami flavor,
the perfect complement to the rich Wagyu.

The accompanying vegetables were crisp and perfectly paired with the steak,
while the mashed potatoes, savory and smooth,
further enhanced the dish's tender flavors.
Even after just the sirloin steak,
I totally understood why this Ohori Park restaurant is a favorite
among celebrities in Fukuoka!

Hambagu Steak 200g / 2,420 JPY
You get two thick, perfectly formed Hambagu patties,
and when you cut into their golden-brown exterior,
you'll find them filled with succulent beef juices.

Since the Hambagu is made from minced A5 Wagyu,
it melts gently in your mouth, spreading a rich beef flavor,
and I even noticed a subtle sweetness with every chew.
It was wonderfully juicy, with no dry spots,
making it a truly delightful experience.
Fukuoka has many great Hambagu spots,
but personally, this one's Hambagu is the most memorable!

Selected Yakiniku Teppanyaki 150g / 2,530 JPY
Unlike a whole steak, this Yakiniku style is cooked and served in
perfect bite-sized pieces, making it easy and convenient to enjoy.
It's also great value for money, so you can indulge without any worries!

It was delicious with plenty of the accompanying sauce,
especially when eaten with the stir-fried bean sprouts from the teppan, which were cooked alongside,
or even placed atop a warm bowl of rice.

Because they run their own butcher shop, the meat quality at
Ishiharagyu was simply exceptional.
You can genuinely enjoy high-quality A5 Kuroge Wagyu in a variety of dishes,
including steak, Hambagu, and Yakiniku,
so there's something to suit every preference.
If you're looking for a fantastic Wagyu restaurant in Fukuoka,
treat yourself to a delicious and satisfying meal at Ishiharagyu, the gem near Ohori Park! 😉
