Waiting Tips
Il Forno del Mignon is Fukuoka's famous croissant spot, conveniently located right inside Hakata Station. They operate from early morning until late at night, and thanks to their affordable prices, they're consistently popular with both locals and tourists.

I visited around 2:00 PM on a Sunday and only waited about 5 minutes before making my purchase. The line moves surprisingly fast!
Exterior / Interior
Hakata Station is quite large, so it can be easy to get lost, but you'll find Il Forno del Mignon right next to the JR Hakata Station Central Ticket Gate. Just follow your nose to the irresistible scent of butter! The shop has a prominent white sign with blue lettering and is situated on a corner, making it easy to spot.

On the left side of the store, you'll find various bread types, while the right side specializes exclusively in mini croissants.

Menu & My Order
Il Forno del Mignon is unique because they sell their mini croissants by weight (grams), not by individual piece.

You can order them individually, and the price list clearly shows the approximate cost per weight, which was really helpful for reference.

Review
Even though the line seemed long, I was able to get my croissants quickly.

⚠️ Important!
This is a cash-only establishment. While many travelers use travel cards these days, make sure to bring Japanese Yen when you visit here! I had to dig through all my remaining yen to pay.

The croissants are continuously baked, and the staff will swiftly bag freshly baked ones as soon as you tell them how many you'd like. Their hands are incredibly fast!

After they've bagged your croissants, they'll weigh them for payment. It was such a novel experience buying bread this way!

I bought plain, chocolate, and sweet potato flavors. They were thoughtfully put into separate bags, so I could carry them back to my accommodation cleanly.

Plain
Both my friend and I unanimously voted this number one! Even though they had cooled down a bit on the way back to the hotel, the croissants were still crispy on the outside and wonderfully chewy on the inside.

Chocolate
My friend's second favorite! These were delightfully sweet with chocolate chips studded throughout.

Sweet Potato
My second favorite! These had a sweet potato filling inside that was absolutely delicious. If you're a fan of sweet potatoes, these will definitely hit the spot.
