But on a trip to Fukuoka, many travelers love heading to

the nearby Huis Ten Bosch, a highly popular theme park.

Huis Ten Bosch is a European-style theme park

that beautifully recreates the streets of the Netherlands.

With plenty of kid-friendly attractions,

it's the perfect destination for families and couples alike!

How to get to Huis Ten Bosch from Hakata Station

(Prices are for a one-way trip)

✅ Since the direct Limited Express train from Hakata only runs about 5 times a day,

checking the schedule in advance is an absolute must.

✅ If you purchase a SUNQ Pass, you can ride the bus for free.

(Prior reservation is required for the bus!)

There isn't a massive difference in travel times,

so I recommend choosing the best option based on your luggage and budget.

Admission is free for children aged 3 and under, and tickets are required from age 4.

While you can buy the 1-DAY and After 3 passes on-site,

I bought mine in advance to skip the ticket booth lines.

Even if the price difference isn't huge, being able to walk right in

with a QR code without waiting in line is incredibly convenient!

The price difference between platforms isn't massive,

but depending on ongoing discount coupons or promotions,

which site is cheaper can vary from day to day.

I usually compare them right before booking

and go with the one offering the biggest discount.

I decided to visit with a ticket that allowed entry starting in the afternoon.

Since I didn't plan on riding a ton of attractions,

and wanted to focus more on exploring the park and enjoying the night views,

the After 3 Pass was the absolute perfect choice for me.

If you buy your ticket in advance,

you can skip the ticket line entirely and just scan your QR code to enter!

Huis Ten Bosch

After getting off at JR Huis Ten Bosch Station,

I crossed the bridge and headed toward the entrance.

Even the station building itself has a European vibe,

so I immediately felt that exciting vacation buzz! ❤️

This is the building I saw while crossing the bridge—

turns out, it's one of the hotels located right inside Huis Ten Bosch!

There are several hotels inside the park,

so I highly recommend staying for an overnight trip.

Since I was planning to stay for the fireworks show, I decided to book a night here!

With the official Huis Ten Bosch app,

you can easily check the park map, performance schedules, and facility locations.

If you're planning a visit, I definitely recommend downloading it beforehand.

It's available for both Android and iOS, and it supports multiple languages, including English.

There are shuttle buses running all over Huis Ten Bosch.

Since I wanted to start exploring from the very top and make my way down,

I hopped on the park's shuttle bus

and headed straight to the uppermost area.

By the way, the shuttle bus is completely free to use!

After getting off the shuttle,

I walked up along a beautiful, tree-lined path.

It felt like a peaceful stroll through lush greenery,

which set a wonderful mood right from the start.

Universal Studios and Disneyland are amazing, of course,

but a theme park with this kind of serene vibe was a first for me, making it even more memorable.

As I made my way up the path, I saw the entrance of a grand building,

so I snapped a few photos and stepped inside.

Located at the very top of Huis Ten Bosch is the

Palace Huis Ten Bosch

Inside, there are art exhibitions, gardens,

and souvenir shops—though the souvenir prices were a bit scary... haha.

I took a stroll around the inner garden,

took some photos, and got moving again.

Since we entered in the afternoon, we had to pick up the pace

to make sure we saw everything!

Once you hit the midway point at Amsterdam City,

you'll find an area packed with restaurants.

We decided to hunt for a dinner spot here.

Since it was peak dinner time, many places had long lines,

so we ended up going into a Korean restaurant that didn't have a wait.

We were on day 5 of our trip and really craving Korean food,

but let's be real—Korean food is always best in Korea... T_T

The fountain shows and fireworks start around sunset,

so I highly recommend planning your dinner time around them!

We quickly finished our meal and rushed over to see the fountain show.

Huge crowds gather for this,

so getting there early to snag a spot is key.

It's somewhat similar to the Canal City fountain show,

but on a much grander, more dazzling scale. Absolutely gorgeous!

After the show, we headed over to the carousel.

It's one of the most popular spots once night falls.

They have separate lines for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors,

and the 3rd-floor queue is by far the longest.

We waited for about 20 minutes.

I really wanted to ride one of the horses, but since I was wearing a skirt,

I had to settle for the carriage... T_T

We enjoyed some super gentle, zero-scare rides,

and as firework time approached, we made our way to the viewing area.

Huis Ten Bosch hosts a fireworks show every single evening,

but because of the massive crowds,

it's not easy to find a good spot.

Here is a pro-tip!

We decided to hop on the Ferris wheel to watch the fireworks from above.

This is the view from up there!

The Ferris wheel windows were a bit smudged,

which caused some glare on my camera,

but in reality, seeing them from the sky

was so much more beautiful than watching from the ground.

Recommended Itinerary (for After 3 Tickets)

If you're visiting with an After 3 Ticket,

If you enter in the afternoon and slowly work your way down from the upper area,

exploring the streets, grabbing a bite, watching the fountain show, riding the carousel, and catching the fireworks,

your itinerary will flow beautifully!

If you're not super focused on hitting every single ride

and prefer to soak in the gorgeous night views and magical atmosphere,

the 'After 3' ticket is more than enough for an absolutely wonderful experience.
