Highly Recommended 5-Star Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City: Hotel Nikko Saigon

Hotel Nikko Saigon is

a premium 5-star hotel located in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City.

Ever since my first visit a few years ago, I was so incredibly satisfied

that it’s always on my shortlist whenever I plan a trip to Ho Chi Minh City.

Every time I return, the service, breakfast, and rooms never fail to impress.

The service in particular is always outstanding,

which is why I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a 5-star hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

As for me, it's definitely a hotel I want to stay at again on my next trip.

Hotel Nikko Saigon is a 5-star hotel

where you can book a Deluxe Double Room

starting from around ~$115 per night.

While it's located slightly away from the absolute center of downtown,

getting around via Grab is so easy and convenient that it's never really an issue.

Plus, the hotel's excellent facilities and top-notch staff service

leave you feeling completely pampered and satisfied.

Particularly thanks to the amazing breakfast quality, spotless room condition,

and incredibly attentive staff,

it's the kind of place that turns first-time guests into loyal repeat visitors—

making it a reliable, highly trustworthy hotel you can always count on.

I'll share everything with you step-by-step below!

Hotel Nikko Saigon: Basic Information & Facilities

The moment your car pulls up to the entrance,

the staff immediately comes out to open the door

and take care of your luggage.

Every single time I returned to the hotel, the way they welcomed me and opened the door was so incredibly thoughtful.

It truly felt like genuine 5-star service.

Step inside Hotel Nikko Saigon,

and you'll be greeted by a spacious lobby with a cozy lounge bar on one side.

Along with the lounge bar, the first-floor lobby

houses the front desk, concierge services, and more.

Since the hotel is located slightly away from the heart of District 1,

they operate a complimentary shuttle bus service.

It runs surprisingly often,

making it super convenient when you want to head over to Saigon Centre or Ben Thanh Market.

The main stops include Ben Thanh Market,

Takashimaya Department Store, and the Opera House.

You can simply ask the concierge to use the shuttle,

and since it's completely free, it was an absolute breeze to use without any hassle.

There is a credit card deposit required during check-in,

which is fully released/canceled upon check-out.

I had originally booked a Deluxe Double Room, but

they kindly upgraded me to a Club Deluxe King Room!

Including taxes, it was around ~$128 per night.

Hotel Nikko Saigon Club Deluxe King Room (Double Room) Review

As soon as you step into the room, this clean, minimalist space

is the very first thing that greets you.

I'm usually not a big fan of carpeted floors,

but this room was an exception.

It was so spotlessly clean

that I could relax completely without any discomfort.

True to its name, there is a plush king-size bed,

with a TV and a small desk right across from it.

There's also a cozy sofa and a mini table on one side,

making it the perfect spot to catch up on some work or just wind down.

Since it’s located on the 23rd floor Club Level,

the wide-open city views right outside the window

were absolutely breathtaking.

The minibar is stocked with an electric kettle, a capsule coffee machine,

and complimentary tea bags and coffee.

The complimentary coffee capsules are from illy!

Two types of glassware, wine glasses,

and two sets of coffee cups were all neatly arranged.

In the room, you'll also find an air purifier,

bathrobes, a long umbrella, slippers, a weight scale,

and even a shoe box and shoe polish.

These thoughtful little touches made the stay incredibly convenient.

I especially loved that the slippers weren't those cheap, disposable non-woven ones;

they were much softer and way more comfortable to wear!

Here is the bathroom, complete with a bathtub.

The tub was impeccably clean, making it perfect for a relaxing soak.

The shower booth is completely enclosed in glass,

which was super convenient since it kept water from splashing everywhere,

and the shower space itself is quite spacious.

The toiletries provided are from L'Occitane,

and basic single-use items like toothbrushes/toothpaste and razors are also well-stocked.

Since this room comes with a bathtub, they even provide bath salts!

You can find the complimentary bottled water in the bathroom area.

The hair dryer had great power,

so drying my hair was quick and easy.

Although you can see into the bathroom from the bedroom,

there's a privacy blind you can pull down,

so privacy is absolutely not an issue!

True to its Japanese heritage,

the toilet is in a separate room from the main bathroom.

Personally, I love this setup

much more than having them in the same space.

Hotel Nikko Saigon truly lives up to its 5-star reputation,

and the overall level of service was highly satisfying.

In the evening, they provide a turndown service.

Coming back to a freshly made bed and a little chocolate on the side

was the perfect, cozy way to end the day.

And then, there was the most memorable moment of all.

The day I checked in just happened to be my birthday,

but I hadn't mentioned it at all during the booking process.

Around evening, the doorbell rang, and when I opened the door,

they had brought a surprise birthday cake and a handwritten card right to my room!

The staff member wished me a happy birthday in person,

which was so touching—and the cake itself was absolutely delicious.

It's these kinds of thoughtful touches

that make me 100% sure I'll choose to stay here again

on my next trip to Ho Chi Minh City.

Hotel Nikko Saigon Breakfast Review

Breakfast is served at La Brasserie,

located on the 2nd floor of the hotel.

While Nikko Saigon is famous for its evening seafood buffet,

I personally found the breakfast buffet even more satisfying,

so I was super excited to try it again this time.

You can order coffee and drinks directly from your server.

Just a quick tip: if you want an iced Americano,

make sure to ask specifically for an 'Americano' with ice,

rather than just a standard local coffee.

The buffet section is beautifully organized into different zones,

with a wide variety of options that made choosing what to eat so much fun!

They even have kimchi,

and because it's a Japanese hotel,

there is a dedicated Japanese food corner too.

Waffles, pancakes, and crepes are

made fresh to order,

and you can customize your egg dishes—

from fluffy omelets to classic eggs Benedict.

There is also an incredible variety

of fresh fruits and pastries.

With so many choices, it's the perfect place to fuel up for a day of exploring.

Hotel Nikko Saigon completely lives up to

its reputation as a trustworthy 5-star hotel.

It checked all the right boxes for me!

The rooms are in pristine condition,

and the staff's attentive service reminded me

exactly why so many travelers choose to return here.

The breakfast quality and overall service were phenomenal,

and thoughtful gestures like a sweet birthday surprise

made the experience even more unforgettable.

While the location is slightly outside the absolute center of District 1,

getting around is incredibly easy with Grab in Vietnam,

and the hotel’s free shuttle bus service

ensures that transportation is never an issue.
