After a quick check-in, we headed up to our room.
While elevators in Japanese city hotels can often feel cramped, Monterey features two spacious elevators.
The hotel is highly popular, and it's always a great sign when a place is heavily favored by domestic Japanese travelers!
We booked a Triple Room for our group of three.
The room size was impressively spacious for Japan.
We had plenty of space to lay out two large suitcases with room to spare.
One of the beds is an extra bed, so it is slightly smaller, but still very comfortable.
They also provided comfy pajamas for each guest.
Conveniently, there are USB ports right by the bedside for overnight charging.
The room also includes a vanity table, a small dining table with chairs, and a separate wardrobe.
Complimentary bottled water is provided daily for each guest, alongside an electric kettle, a mini-fridge, and a humidifying air purifier.
The wardrobe is quite generous in size, making it easy to hang up thick winter coats and travel gear.
There is also a convenient mirror right by the entryway.
The sheer amount of space in this layout made our stay incredibly comfortable.

For a hotel in Japan, a bathroom of this size is a luxury.
All the daily essentials and toiletries are fully stocked and ready for you.
High-quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided in the shower.
And perhaps the best part for late-night shoppers: the massive Don Quijote discount store is right across the street!
It is literally a 1-minute walk away, meaning you do not have to carry your heavy shopping bags very far.
