If you're planning a trip to Japan, you probably have that dream
of soaking in a relaxing public bath at the end of a long day of exploring, right?
Staying at a traditional ryokan is a great way to enjoy hot springs freely,
but in downtown destinations like Nagoya, ryokans are hard to find,
so many travelers look for city hotels with great public baths instead.

Let me show you where the hotel is located on the map.
The true heart of Nagoya revolves around Sakae Station and Nagoya Mirai Tower.
Hotel androoms is located about 800m north of this hub,
which is roughly a 10-minute walk.
It's close enough to easily walk to the main downtown area,
making it super convenient for getting around, dining at local hotspots,
or shopping late into the evening.
At the same time, because it's slightly removed from the bustling center,
the neighborhood gets wonderfully quiet and peaceful at night.
If you look at the map, you'll see a long green strip
running right down the middle representing the park.
It's a beautifully maintained city park,
making it absolutely perfect for a morning or evening stroll.

Now, let’s dive into the check-in process
and our honest review of the stay!
We arrived around 6:30 PM to check in,
and two friendly staff members assisted us.
Although there were self-check-in kiosks in the back,
it seemed like most guests preferred checking in face-to-face.
The check-in went smoothly without any issues. Since it's a popular choice
for global travelers, they also provided a handy English information guide.
The guide covered all the basics like check-out times and
room cleaning policies, with no unusual surprises.
One unique and lovely touch was that when we checked in,
they gave us free coffee vouchers matching the number of guests in our party.
You can redeem these coupons for a complimentary drink
at the cozy cafeteria located right next to the lobby.
The menu included coffee (hot/iced), orange juice, and apple juice.
There were six different varieties, including Earl Grey and Oolong tea,
and they were only available from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Before heading up to our room,
we grabbed a drink to try right away.
While the taste was simple, it was wonderfully cold and totally quenched our thirst!
Another great perk was being able to freely grab room amenities
from the lobby to use during our stay.
They had basic essentials like cotton swabs, razors, and toothbrushes available.
With our drinks and amenities in hand, we headed up to our room.
Floors 2 through 11 are guest rooms, and the 12th floor features the public bath (daiyokujo),
✅ and since there are vending machines and ice makers on the 2nd and 12th floors,
I highly recommend checking which floor you're on ahead of time.
We booked a Standard Semi-Double Room
and were assigned to Room 1004.
The room interior was on the smaller, cozier side,
but they did a great job maximizing the space
by placing all the furniture against the walls.
The bed was a double—not super spacious,
but definitely big enough for the two of us to sleep comfortably.
Also, right next to the bed, there was a small table and chair,
along with a mini-fridge and an electric kettle.
Interestingly, there were two rattan bags sitting on the table,
which seemed to be provided for carrying your things to the public bath.
Aside from that, there was an air purifier, a TV, and a small clothes rack,
as well as comfy loungewear robes you can wear around the room and to the bath.
Next up, the bathroom is located right near the room entrance,
and it has a separated layout as you can see in the photos.
The bathroom was incredibly compact,
equipped with a bathtub, sink, and toilet.
Even though the hotel has a large public bath, having a separate private tub
was a plus for anyone wanting to enjoy a peaceful,
private soak right in the comfort of their room.
For bathing, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all provided,
and there was one bath towel and one face towel per person,
so we had everything we needed during our one-night stay.
If I had to pick the biggest highlight of Hotel androoms,
it would definitely be the large public bath on the 12th floor.

Since you can use it until late at night, it was absolutely perfect
to wash away your fatigue after a long day of exploring.
While you can wear whatever you like to the bathhouse,
make sure to bring your own towel from your room.
It's also super convenient to wear your room gown there.
The baths are separated for men and women,
and the layout is very similar to a classic public bathhouse.
Still, soaking on the 12th floor while enjoying the view outside
made for such a relaxing, dreamy vibe.
(Since other guests were there, I couldn't take photos inside.)
After enjoying your soak, they also have hairdryers
ready for you to use in the changing room.
The 12th floor isn't just for the bathhouse;
it also functions as a handy utility area.
Convenient amenities like washing machines, vending machines, and a microwave
are all gathered right here in one place.
There's even a milk vending machine! Snagging a cold milk after your bath
is the ultimate way to complete the classic Japanese bath experience.
After melting all my fatigue away in the hot bath,
I topped it off with a free ice pop for the perfect finish!
Being able to enjoy all these thoughtful amenities and sweet treats
made the public bath experience an absolute 10/10!
