The Salisbury YMCA Hong Kong Review 2026: Tsim Sha Tsui Value Twin Rooms
Planning a Hong Kong trip? The Salisbury YMCA in Tsim Sha Tsui offers prime location, great value, and easy access to attractions. Find out why it's my top pick!

When re-booking my Hong Kong hotel,
I didn't hesitate much and chose the one I had stayed at before,
The Salisbury YMCA Hong Kong.
It's about a **2-minute walk from Tsim Sha Tsui Station**,
and you can easily walk to Harbour City and the Avenue of Stars.
Even with such a prime location, it's in the **~$73 range per night**, which is excellent value.
I'll share a detailed review of The Salisbury YMCA Twin Room, nearby dining spots,
and even a **secret tip for a 5% booking discount**!
1. Why I Recommend This Hong Kong Hotel
📌 Recommended Areas for Accommodation in Hong Kong
· Tsim Sha Tsui
· Sheung Wan
→ **These areas offer excellent subway access and are packed with delicious food options and attractions,**
making them incredibly convenient.

📌 Advantages of The Salisbury YMCA Hong Kong
· Approximately a **2-minute walk from Tsim Sha Tsui Station**
· Within walking distance to **Harbour City, Avenue of Stars, Clock Tower, 1881 Heritage,**
and the **Symphony of Lights**
· Nearby Dining: **Bakehouse, Jenny Bakery, Luk Ye Dim Sum**
In Hong Kong, the better the location of a hotel,
the more significantly the prices tend to increase.
However, with rooms starting from **~$73 per night**, it's an excellent option
especially for those looking for a budget-friendly hotel in Hong Kong without compromising on quality.
2. The Salisbury YMCA

The Salisbury YMCA Hong Kong offers
various room types, including Standard Double and Twin Rooms, Harbour View Rooms,
and City View Suites.
(Check-in is at 3 PM, check-out is at 11 AM)
The room I originally booked was a **Standard Twin Room**,
with a size of approximately 23㎡.
During check-in, I was lucky enough to even receive
an upgrade to a Harbour View Twin Room!

Compared to my previous visit, the room itself felt
spotlessly clean and well-maintained, with no signs of age.
Everything from the bedding to the bathroom was meticulously cared for.
The bathroom also felt a bit more spacious in reality
than it appeared in photos.

What I loved most, however, was the window area.
Being on a lower floor, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre did
block a bit of the view,
but simply opening the curtains to a **Harbour View** was fantastic in itself.

3. Detailed Twin Room Review

I brought one 26-inch and one 28-inch suitcase,
and even with both fully open, there was still plenty of space to move around the room.
The room felt surprisingly spacious!

Typically, hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui or Sheung Wan in Hong Kong
often have very, very small rooms.
Here, there was even a dedicated space to spread out our suitcases,
which made organizing our luggage so much easier. It was great not having to
constantly fold and unfold our bags during our multi-day stay.

Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash
were provided in refillable dispensers,
and we used these in-room amenities throughout our stay.
(The subtle fruity scent was lovely!)

The room also came with a capsule coffee machine, an electric kettle,
coffee cups, and tea bags.
It was perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning
or a warm tea at night. The mini-fridge was also
spacious enough to store drinks and desserts from the convenience store.

(A little messy, as it was taken in the morning, but...)
The harbor view you wake up to in the morning... simply incredible! 👍🏻
Gazing out, you truly feel that unique Hong Kong vibe with its dense cityscape
and vibrant harbor atmosphere. It really amplified the travel experience!
4. Nearby Culinary Delights
While The Salisbury YMCA offers great rooms,
our satisfaction with its location was even higher thanks to the fantastic food options nearby.
Just about a 4-minute walk away, you'll find Bakehouse,
and Jenny Bakery is also close by, making it easy to visit early in the morning.
I once did an 'open run' (arrived right at opening) for Bakehouse,
and having the hotel so close meant I could grab those delicious egg tarts
and bring them right back to my room to enjoy – super convenient!

Other Tsim Sha Tsui culinary gems like Lo Ye Dim Sum, Lan Fong Yuen (a cha chaan teng), and King's Lodge
are also great to include in your itinerary.
Instead of spending all day sightseeing and then having to travel far for dinner,
eating around the hotel
and then heading back saved a lot of energy.
Extra Tip: For those looking to shop,
I recommend nearby Harbour City, CitySuper, and K11 Musea.
✔ For those seeking a hotel in a prime Tsim Sha Tsui location, close to the MTR
✔ For travelers looking for a great value Hong Kong hotel around ~$73 per night
✔ For anyone wanting a hotel where the rooms aren't too small
This is absolutely the Hong Kong accommodation I'd recommend to anyone in these categories!
I've actually rebooked a Hong Kong hotel here before,
and I ended up revisiting it because the location satisfaction was so high.
Once your travel dates are set,
prices can vary quite a bit depending on the day,
so I'd recommend comparing prices on Agoda and Trip.com first.
