1. How to Get to Merci 852, Right by Hong Kong's Mid-Levels Escalator

📍 Merci852
63 Wellington St, Central, Hong Kong
📍 Mid-Levels Escalator
Jubilee St, Central, Hong Kong
📍 Stone Slab Street
Pottinger St, Central, Hong Kong
Merci 852 is just a 3-minute walk from Hong Kong's Mid-Levels Escalator.
If you're visiting Hong Kong, this neighborhood is an absolute must-see!
Hong Kong Central: a vibrant hub where you can discover amazing eateries, indulge in shopping, explore fantastic sights, and capture those perfect 'once-in-a-lifetime' photos!
As for 'Merci,' it's obviously the most famous French word, so everyone probably knows it.
852 is Hong Kong's country code!
Just like +82 for South Korea!

Pretty clever name, wouldn't you say?
Here in Hong Kong, you can discover unique fashion items crafted right in France!

With its distinctive stepped streets and vibrant, colorful shops,
it's also just a 1-minute walk from the super-popular photo spot in Hong Kong, Stone Slab Street!
If you're heading to Central, I highly recommend visiting all three of these spots together!

2. Handpicked Directly from France: Ever-Changing Collections
The biggest charm of Merci, this Hong Kong boutique,
is that every single item is handpicked and brought in directly from France.

The owner, a true French national who fluently speaks English with a charming French accent,
personally curates items directly from France,
bringing in a fresh and different selection every time.

Ça va?
A Hong Kong Boutique with Many Western Regulars
Fun fact: about 70% of their existing customers are repeat visitors!
When I visited, I actually saw many customers who were clearly regulars, chatting with the owner like old friends!
They greeted each other with 'Ça va?' (How are you?) and a 'bise' (cheek kiss)!
For a moment, it truly felt like I was transported to Paris, France!

In fact, if you visit the non-department store boutiques in Paris, France,
you'll find many stores with exactly this kind of concept.
They offer not only clothes but also jewelry, bags, shoes, and even lingerie,
characterized by a diverse range of items and various stylistic concepts!

3. Surprisingly Affordable, Even Though It's Made in France!
When you're shopping in Hong Kong, it's pretty common to stumble upon a lot of products made in China, right?
But guess what? Everything here is Made in France!
There's just one little exception to the Made-in-France rule, though!

It's those adorable shoes you see in the photo above!
These beauties are handmade in Spain, and let me tell you, they're incredibly comfy and come in a fantastic range of colors!

I seriously agonized over buying them right up until the last minute,
but since I just snagged a pair of similar Mary Jane heels recently, I reluctantly passed.
So, if you're on the hunt for cute and comfy shoes, please, go get them in my place! You won't regret it!
Aside from those specific shoes, every other pair of shoes and all the clothing items are French-made.

I honestly expected them to be super pricey, given they're French-made,
but I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the prices actually were!

Personally, I found a ton of blouses that totally stole my heart and matched my style perfectly!

These clothes strike that perfect balance between chic vacation vibes and effortless daily wear!
Blouses were in the HKD 400 range, while dresses and cardigans hovered around the HKD 800 mark.

And that super adorable, best-selling 'Merci' sweatshirt? It was in the HKD 600s!
Just as a side note, while I was busy admiring the blouses,
the customer next to me was *very* intently checking out the dresses!

See that dress with the unique silhouette, subtly captured in the far-left photo?
Apparently, this particular dress is a huge hit, especially with Western women!
While I was trying on several outfits for almost an hour,
I actually spotted three different people looking specifically for that dress!
It's a total steady-seller, so if you're dreaming of a hot vacation look, definitely give it a try ;)

And here's another little detail that really impressed me:
Even if you pick up just one item,
they package your purchase in a super stylish 'Merci 852' eco-bag, designed with the colors of the French flag – how cool is that?

I ended up choosing one blouse and one cardigan that I absolutely adored!
Oh, and make sure to have your Hong Kong Octopus Card ready for payment! It's super handy.
It's not just for shopping; it's an absolute must-have for all of Hong Kong's public transport, including buses, the MTR, and the Airport Express (AEL).
Check out the best prices for the Hong Kong Octopus Card!
3. The Jewelry Line with a Luxury Watch Strap Vibe

Of course, there were so many beautiful clothes as well,
but this time, the jewelry line particularly caught my eye.
There were bracelets that reminded me of vintage Celine,

and even metal bracelets that brought a watch strap to mind!
And get this – they're sterling silver, plated with gold!
The quality is amazing, and the prices are around ~$128-~$256.

I was genuinely surprised by this quality at such a price point!
These bracelets are perfect for everyday wear!

Beyond that, there's a whole array of jewelry, so you'll find yourself browsing for ages.

4. Central Store where you can try on items and choose (+ Free Shipping to Korea)
At the store located right in front of the Hong Kong Mid-Levels Escalator,
you can actually try on the clothes and pick your favorites.
I think I tried on about 10 different outfits myself!

Amazingly, you can even place orders via DM!
Free shipping to Korea is available for purchases over ~$385!
If you hesitated in Hong Kong and missed out?
You can simply order online after you return home!

They regularly post updates on new arrivals on Instagram, so give them a follow.
If you spot something you love, you can contact them via DM or WhatsApp!
Both +852 6447 7352 and +852 5182 0466 are available for WhatsApp contact :)

But honestly, trying on clothes before buying is always the best way,
so if you're in Hong Kong Central, make sure to pop in!
