The Hong Kong Observation Wheel is located on the Central Harbourfront.

The address is 33 Man Kwong Street, Central.

Its official name is the Hong Kong Observation Wheel.

Locally, it's also known as the AIA Ferris Wheel.

You can find it easily by searching for "AIA Wheel" on Google Maps!

Since Hong Kong insurance company AIA operates it,

the AIA logo is prominently displayed in the center of the wheel.

It's near Central IFC, so finding it is a breeze.

You can easily spot the circular structure from a distance.

Here's an important tip!

The Central Star Ferry Pier is right next door.

This means when you're planning your Hong Kong itinerary,

Once you hop on, it typically goes for about 3 revolutions,

and the ride lasts roughly 15 to 20 minutes.

3. When's the Best Time to Ride? And What About Wait Times?

I aimed to go around sunset,

as I thought riding while watching the sunset would be incredibly beautiful.

However, reality was a bit different.

I queued up at 6 PM,

and waited for about an hour.

My ride time was 7 PM.

While the sunset is undoubtedly gorgeous,

long wait times can be a bit tiring.

Especially on weekend evenings around sunset, it gets incredibly crowded.

So, the time I recommend is

weekday afternoons (2 PM ~ 5 PM).

If your Hong Kong travel itinerary is tight,

it's best to ride when the queue is short.

4. Best Seats for the Best Views

With the Hong Kong Observation Wheel, you don't get to choose your seats freely.

The staff assigns groups to capsules.

Still, let me share a little seating tip!

It's the left seat, right next to the door, as soon as you enter.

From here, you get a full view of the Central skyline, the sea,

and even attractions like the carousel, all at once.

It's also the best spot for taking photos!

But even if you can't snag this seat, you'll still have a fantastic time,

so don't worry too much about it!
