Craving authentic dim sum in Ho Chi Minh City? Dim Tu Tac, a Michelin-recommended restaurant, offers exquisite flavors. Discover their must-try dishes and how to plan your visit.

Craving some delicious dim sum while in Vietnam?
Look no further than Ho Chi Minh City’s Michelin-recommended gem: Dim Tu Tac!

While the Peking ducks hanging near the entrance look incredibly tempting,
Dim Tu Tac is especially legendary for its incredible dim sum!

📍 Dim Tu Tac
Tầng 4, Estella Place, 88 Song Hành, Bình Trưng, Hồ Chí Minh 700000 Vietnam
We paid a visit to the branch on the 4th floor of Estella Place in District 2!
Opening Hours
Daily 09:30 - 22:00
For bookings, check out their official website:
While many travelers head to the popular Dim Tu Tac
located inside the Takashimaya Department Store at Saigon Centre in District 1,
it's always buzzing with crowds,
and reservations are absolutely essential during peak hours.
So, we decided to visit the District 2 Estella branch, which was right near our place.
We went on a weekday evening without a booking.
I heard some locations only serve dim sum during lunch hours,
but we had no problem ordering just dim sum for dinner here!
Inside Dim Tu Tac

The clean and sleek interior of the District 2 branch.
They have large round tables perfect for group gatherings,
and as we walked further inside, we saw plenty of 4-seater tables by the window,
so we gladly grabbed a cozy window seat!

Once you're seated, they serve a wonderfully crispy and delicious complimentary appetizer,
along with chili oil, fresh spicy peppers, and table settings.
The Menu at Dim Tu Tac, Ho Chi Minh's Michelin Guide Gem

The Ha Cao (shrimp dumplings), which takes up two whole pages of the menu,
is our absolute number-one choice!!!
Plump, juicy shrimp packed inside a delicate wrapper—
these were so good that we told each other we'd order two baskets next time
and have one whole basket to ourselves!

A look at some of the other diverse menu items!
The Peking duck at Dim Tu Tac is priced at:
880,000 VND (~$31) for a whole duck
440,000 VND (~$16) for a half duck
It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy delicious Peking duck
at a much more budget-friendly price than back home.
However, after reading some reviews saying it wasn't overly mind-blowing,
we decided to stick mainly to ordering dim sum!

Beer with dim sum? A total no-brainer!
We ordered two cans of Saigon Special!
Wish they had draft beer, but this will definitely do.
The Dishes We Ordered at Dim Tu Tac

Crispy fried dumpling wrappers (or maybe wonton wrappers?)
tossed in a savory seasoning—that’s the complimentary starter at Dim Tu Tac.
This snack was dangerously addictive and so incredibly delicious
that we actually ordered a second round!

A must-drink whenever you're in Vietnam:
Bia Saigon Special!
It's 38,000 VND (~$1) per can.
When you grab a drink at local street spots,
they usually serve lukewarm beer with a glass of ice.
You end up drinking it more for the cold sensation than the actual taste,
but having a perfectly chilled Saigon Special here at Dim Tu Tac was absolutely amazing! ~~

First up, the crab soup.
It looks quite big in the photo, but it's actually
served in a tiny ceramic bowl—perfect as a single starter portion.

We slurped it down as an appetizer before the dim sum arrived,
and it was absolutely packed with crab meat. Loved it! Haha!
Must-Try Dim Sum Recommendations at Dim Tu Tac
- Ha Cao (Shrimp Dumpling)

The absolute star of the menu at Dim Tu Tac:
the fresh shrimp Ha Cao!
Wrapped in a thin, translucent skin, the plump shrimp inside
gives it a wonderfully snappy texture. It's perfectly seasoned,
with a chewy wrapper and a lovely crunch from fresh bamboo shoots.
Honestly, I feel like Dim Tu Tac got its Michelin recognition because of this Ha Cao.
I heard their Xiao Long Bao is also legendary,
so that's definitely on my list for my next visit!

Shumai (Siu Mai) Dim Sum
Steamed dumplings packed with pork and shrimp.
The addition of shiitake mushrooms brings a rich, savory umami and a satisfying, springy texture.
Standard dumplings at Dim Tu Tac come in portions of 4,
while those with more premium ingredients are served in portions of 3.

Black Truffle & Mixed Mushroom Dumpling (3pcs)
&
Crispy Shrimp Cheung Fun (Rice Noodle Roll)—our second round of orders arrived in no time!
A silky, soft rice noodle sheet wrapped around a crispy layer
and plump shrimp—the ultimate combination of soft on the outside and crunchy on the inside!
6pcs for 98,000 VND (~$3)

Black Truffle & Mixed Mushroom Dumpling
80,000 VND (~$3)
Filled with a medley of finely minced mushrooms (no meat!)
and infused with a rich truffle sauce.
A wonderful, vegan-friendly option that anyone can enjoy.
Maybe my expectations were a bit too high,
because the taste was a little more ordinary than it looked.
Still, it's not every day you get to try such a unique mushroom dumpling!

The lighting in the restaurant was so chic, making it feel like we were admiring a traditional landscape painting.
Dim Tu Tac, the Michelin-recommended gem in Ho Chi Minh City,
makes me wonder if they earned their spot solely on the strength of their Ha Cao.
It's a must-visit dim sum spot that I'll crave every single time I'm back in town!
It feels as if they've transported the mouthwatering dim sum
straight from Taiwan, Hong Kong, or China right to Dim Tu Tac.
I'll definitely be heading back soon to try the rest of the menu!
