That's because it was indeed early morning! We booked tickets for Hanauma Bay around 7:00 AM and made sure to stop here beforehand.

The bakery opens at 5:30 AM, so there's plenty of time to grab your treats.

The location is a bit out of the way from the main city center, so you'll definitely need a car. It's best to plan your visit on a day when you've rented a vehicle.

Even in the early hours, this place gets incredibly busy. While there is a parking lot, spots can be limited.

You'll need to grab a waiting number when you arrive. Just head to where the crowd is and wait your turn patiently.

They also sell souvenirs here. It seems like America really loves creating merchandise for everything!

Everyone drives out in the early morning just to get these donuts... Can you see the line next to the building? Haha! Leonard's Bakery was even featured on the Hawaii episode of "Street Food Fighter," where Chef Baek Jong-won enjoyed them heartily.

Isn't this pink box with sky-blue lettering just adorable? Even now, it's so pretty I wanted to take it home, even if it's just "pretty junk." Haha!

After stocking up on malasadas, we were off to go snorkeling! They offer a variety of delicious fillings.

For the outer coating, you can choose from Original (sugar), Cinnamon Sugar, or Li Hing Powder. As for the delicious fillings, they have Custard, Chocolate, Coconut, Macadamia Nut, and Guava.

Li Hing is a unique, tangy red powder commonly enjoyed in Hawaii.

The "original" malasada is simply a delicious donut without any filling.

We got a bit ambitious and bought six of them!

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of overly sweet things, and American sweets can be incredibly intense. If you don't have a big sweet tooth, don't overdo it like we did! 😉 However, if you love desserts, these are definitely a must-try.

We headed to Hanauma Bay, took plenty of photos, ate one each, and brought the rest back.

It was a great idea to bring them along, as we definitely worked up an appetite after snorkeling! :)

Island Vintage Coffee Acai Bowl

While you can find acai bowls at other spots, Island Vintage Coffee is conveniently located right on Kalākaua Avenue, Waikiki's main thoroughfare, making it super accessible.

Honestly, most acai bowls taste pretty similar across different places. My husband and I absolutely love them, and while they've recently become popular back home, the prices there can be quite steep.

So, make sure to enjoy plenty of them while you're in Hawaii!

It's amazing how cafes open as early as 6:00 AM here; it seems like Hawaii really starts its day early!
