✔️ Why I Chose Haiyi International Apartment Prime location - near May Fourth Square and MixC Mall 2-bedroom layout, perfect for family dynamics Spacious living room and shared areas Incredibly reasonable price point |
I'm usually very picky about accommodations, but the main reason I locked in Haiyi International Apartment was the need for at least two separate bedrooms.
Since I was traveling with my dad and younger brother, booking two standard hotel rooms felt disconnected and heavily inflated our budget. That's when I discovered this hidden gem!

Location is everything when you travel. It's just a 5-minute walk (about 0.2 miles) to May Fourth Square, a must-visit landmark for any Qingdao traveler, and an 8 to 10-minute walk (about 0.4 miles) to the massive MixC shopping center. The location couldn't have been better.

The core of a great family stay is shared communal space. Because it's a residence-style hotel, the living room area was wonderfully spacious.

Having a large dining table was a game-changer for bringing back local takeout or enjoying late-night snacks together.

True to Chinese hospitality, they provided an abundance of complimentary bottled water and a gorgeous welcome fruit basket. I finally got to try China's famous flat peaches! As an expecting mom, I was beyond thrilled. ;)

The suite comes equipped with kitchen facilities and a washing machine. While pots, pans, and utensils aren't stocked by default, you can easily request them from the front desk.
This setup is absolutely perfect for families with younger kids or anyone who wants the option to cook a quick meal.

The master bedroom features a plush double bed and is designed to face the ocean.
It rained heavily on our check-in day so the view was completely obscured, but the very next morning, we were treated to a breathtaking coastal panorama.

The master en-suite bathroom comes with both a shower stall and a bathtub. Yes, it's an ocean-view tub! Haha.

Being a proper hotel, it had everything we needed: bathrobes, fresh towels, toiletries, a hairdryer, a room safe, and even an umbrella.

Before arriving, I was slightly concerned because one wall of the bathroom is glass, meaning it's visible from the bedroom. In reality, you'd have to actively try to look in to see anything, and there's a privacy curtain anyway, so it wasn't an issue at all.

I originally booked a suite with one double bed and one single bed, but the hotel surprised us with a complimentary upgrade! As a result, I got to sleep in a comfy double bed too. Talk about a lucky break! 💛

The second bedroom also featured its own en-suite bathroom with a shower, allowing everyone to get ready comfortably over our 3-night stay.
While the building isn't brand new and shows minor signs of wear, the housekeeping was impeccable, making it a very pleasant stay.

There was even a dedicated study room, though we were too busy exploring to use it.

A huge bonus: there's a separate half-bath in the living room. It doesn't have a shower, but having three toilets for three people meant zero waiting in line! Haha.

The views from the living room were so spectacular that we didn't even feel the need to pay for a city observatory. 💛

Communication was incredibly convenient. You can message the front desk via WeChat or the Trip.com app. The system automatically translates, so you can just type in English and they'll handle your requests promptly.

If you order food delivery using Alipay and include your room number, a futuristic little robot delivers it straight to your door!
We opted out of daily room cleaning and simply requested fresh towels and water. They brought up an absolute mountain of bottled water! Despite the language barrier, the housekeeping staff were incredibly warm and friendly.

Every evening, our family gathered around the dining table for drinks and late-night bites.
We played card games, devoured the sweet flat peaches I’d been craving, and made wonderful memories. It truly was the ultimate family accommodation. Everyone was completely satisfied! ;)
We ran into quite a few international travelers in the lobby; it turns out this place is a highly sought-after spot for tourists from all over.
