Hai Wei Feng Seafood Taipei: Ximending Local Eatery Review 2026

When you're exploring Taiwan, those famous tourist-spot restaurants are great,

but sometimes, especially in the evening,

you just crave a place with a more authentic local vibe,

somewhere you can enjoy delicious food with a cold beer, right?!

That's exactly how we felt during our last Taipei trip.

We wanted a fantastic dinner and a few drinks,

so we set out to find a true local eatery :)

1. Our Ximending Local Find: Hai Wei Feng Seafood

Hai Wei Feng Seafood (海味豐海產店) is conveniently located close to Taipei's Ximending district.

My boyfriend, who has an uncanny radar for great food,

spotted this place while we were wandering around!

It's a fantastic restaurant where you can savor Taiwanese-style seafood and a variety of other local dishes.

Since it's just a short walk from Ximending,

it's an excellent recommendation for anyone looking for a dinner spot while exploring Ximending.

Operating Hours: 4:30 PM - 1:30 AM (next day)

We purposefully sought out a spot that felt truly local, rather than one packed with tourists.

As we stepped inside, we found ourselves surrounded primarily by Taiwanese locals

enjoying their evening meals and drinks.

The prices were also very reasonable,

making it easy to order a variety of dishes to sample and share :)

2. A Feast of Dishes Paired with Local Beer

When you visit a local eatery like this,

the fun isn't just in eating one dish, but ordering several to share!

So, we ordered a selection of dishes, along with the famous

Taiwanese 18-day beer – a must-try when you're in Taiwan :)

First up, the stir-fried clams and stir-fried water spinach!

The stir-fried clams were perfectly seasoned with a savory sauce that paired incredibly well with beer :)

And the stir-fried water spinach, with its delightful crunch,

was a refreshing side dish to complement all the other flavors.

3. Delicious Dishes, No Misses!

We also wanted something a bit more substantial than just bar snacks,

so we ordered fried rice and what seemed like fried ribs!

The fried rice was absolutely delicious...!!

Eating it alongside the other dishes made for a truly satisfying dinner!

And though I can't recall the exact name,

the fried ribs were wonderfully crispy and tasted amazing with our beer ><

This wasn't one of those times where we hunted for a specific 'famous dish';

we simply picked what looked good from the menu.

Surprisingly, every single dish we ordered was incredibly tasty,

and we kept remarking on how well we'd chosen as we savored every bite :)

4. Soaking in the Local Vibe with a Beer in Taipei

Looking at other tables, filled with local Taiwanese folks enjoying what looked like after-work gatherings,

I noticed a different Chinese beer. So, of course, we had to try that one too, haha!

And then, we added stir-fried cabbage and an eggplant dish to our order... haha!

Seriously, we ate until we were stuffed that night, and every single dish was a huge hit! ❤️

It was wonderful to relax and enjoy the evening with delicious food and beer.

It felt like we had momentarily stepped into the everyday evening scene of Taiwan,

and finding such a **Taipei local gem** was definitely one of the highlights of our trip :)

5. Incredible Value for an Unforgettable Meal

Even after ordering so much,

the total came out to 1220 Taiwanese Dollars, which is approximately **~$39 USD!**

Back home, ordering just one or two dishes and some drinks can easily run you over ~$73 USD...

But here, we got to enjoy a wide array of dishes and different kinds of beer

all for an incredibly affordable price :)

What truly made it special was experiencing the **unique ambiance of a local restaurant**, rather than a tourist-focused one,

where we could share various small dishes and enjoy a few beers!

6. Final Thoughts on Hai Wei Feng Seafood

Hai Wei Feng Seafood (海味豐海產店) was a local spot worth visiting

for anyone traveling in Taipei who wants to **enjoy delicious food and drinks** in the evening.
