Haeundae Namcheonjip is a renowned spot for Bossam and Makgeolli,
conveniently located right near the Haeundae-gu Office.
Perhaps that's why, when I visited in the evening,
the place was absolutely buzzing with people!

If you plan to visit during peak dinner hours, be prepared for a wait – it's almost guaranteed.
So I highly recommend using the 'Tableing' app to remotely join the waiting list before you even arrive.
I went on a weekday evening, and thankfully,
I only had to wait about 10 minutes before getting a table!

Many restaurants in Haeundae can be tricky when it comes to parking,
but Namcheonjip boasts a spacious, dedicated parking lot,
making it a breeze to enjoy your meal without any hassle.
Inside the Vibe

Right at the entrance of Namcheonjip, you'll spot signatures from famous celebrities.
It definitely built up the anticipation before stepping inside!

Namcheonjip is spread across two floors (1st and 2nd),
with the first floor offering table seating and the second floor featuring private room-style areas.

Most of the seating was arranged with tables for four,
and the interior felt surprisingly spacious, much larger than it appeared from the outside.
What's more, even on a weekday evening, the place was packed to the brim,
and it was fascinating to see a vibrant mix of locals and fellow travelers all enjoying the atmosphere.

Namcheonjip boasts a diverse menu, featuring Korean savory pancakes (jeon), special dishes, grilled fish,
unique delicacies, hearty stews, and various meal options.
Their signature specialties are Samhap (a three-combo dish) and jeon,
all designed to pair perfectly with makgeolli!
For our party of four, we decided to indulge in Octopus Samhap, Seafood Pajeon,
Bibim-guksu, and both Saengtak and Neurin Maeul makgeolli. A perfect spread!

Just a heads-up: Namcheonjip is currently running a special receipt review
event! Make sure to participate and get a chance to

Now, let's dive into my full taste review of Namcheonjip in Haeundae. Get ready for some delicious details!
My Taste Review

Before our star dishes even arrived at Namcheonjip,
we were treated to an amazing spread of side dishes (banchan) including Japchae (glass noodles), stir-fried potatoes, napa cabbage kimchi,
yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi), and tender braised fish.
Honestly, these incredible banchan alone were enough to polish off a whole bottle of makgeolli! They were that good.

For our first round of makgeolli, we opted for Busan's very own,
Saengtak. And let me tell you,
with its subtly sweet and smooth flavor,
it truly reminded me that sometimes, the classics are simply the best!

Then came the moment we'd all been waiting for: the star of the show, Octopus Samhap!
Its visual presentation alone was enough to make my jaw drop,
and I knew right away it was going to be absolutely delicious!
It came served with an array of delectable sauces: fragrant sesame oil, spicy chojang, savory ssamjang, and flavorful salted fermented seafood (jeotgal).

Namcheonjip's Bossam (boiled pork belly), a key component of the main dish, was incredibly tender with absolutely no unpleasant odor,
so melt-in-your-mouth delicious even on its own,
and simply divine when wrapped in a fresh ssam!

The octopus was equally tender and succulent; simply dipping it in chojang or
just a touch of sesame oil was pure bliss!

While delicious in its individual components, Octopus Samhap truly shines when eaten as a ssam (wrapped bite).
Both lettuce and perilla leaves make excellent wrappers, but
personally, my favorite combination was perilla leaf, kimchi, octopus, and bossam,
finished with a dollop of ssamjang on top. Absolutely heavenly!

Just as our second main dish, the magnificent Seafood Pajeon, made its grand entrance,
we decided it was time to order the Neurin Maeul Makgeolli.
This 'Slow Village' makgeolli was even sweeter and more delightful than Saengtak,
making it incredibly easy to drink glass after glass without feeling weighed down. So smooth!

Next up on our culinary journey was the incredible Seafood Pajeon.
Now, this wasn't your average pajeon! This Seafood Pajeon arrived
in an intriguing long, rectangular shape.
And fresh off the griddle, it was absolutely divine!
Packed with long green onions, abundant seafood, and a hint of chili peppers,
it offered a wonderfully spicy yet savory flavor profile that was simply irresistible.

Finally, we ordered Bibim Guksu to cleanse our palates.
The Bibim Guksu was generously topped with yukjeon (beef pancake), cucumber, lettuce, and more,
and the refreshing gochujang sauce made it the perfect finishing dish.
