Haebok Abalone Porridge Review: Haeundae LCT's Best Breakfast Spot 2026

On the 2nd floor of LCT, at the Mipo end of Busan's Haeundae Beach,

I heard there was a proper abalone specialty restaurant, so I decided to check it out.

1. Hae Bok: A Premium Restaurant at LCT

At the Mipo end of Haeundae Beach, a symbol of Busan,

you'll find LCT. Looking out at Mipo Port from the 2nd floor of this building,

Hae Bok immediately presents itself as a premium abalone specialty restaurant.

Its exterior makes that clear at a glance.

After parking in the LCT building's underground parking lot, head up to the 2nd floor.

It's the very last shop towards Mipo.

After parking underground, come up to the 2nd floor.

Then, keep walking towards Mipo, and the very last shop you'll see is

Hae Bok.

This place is certified as a celebrity favorite!

Yoon Soo-il, Kim Jun-ho, and even the Mayor of Busan have visited here.

The '뻥 뷰' (breathtaking open view) overlooking Haeundae Mipo is incredibly refreshing.

They open at 8 AM, so many guests staying nearby

come for breakfast instead of hotel meals.

We went at 11 AM, and there were already many customers who had finished their breakfast

and were getting up to leave.

There are two entrances:

one from inside the building, and an outdoor one directly visible from Mipo Port.

It's the last shop you'll see.

2. A Spotless Spread

We ordered Abalone Suyuk and Abalone Porridge (for one person).

As soon as we sat down, the basic side dishes were set.

Just by looking at the food, you could tell it was immaculate and healthy.

Radish salad, kelp strips, kimchi, spicy marinated crab (Yangnyeom Gejang), kimchi pancake,

and since we ordered Bossam Suyuk, it came with

salted shrimp, ssamjang (dipping sauce), garlic, and more.

The table is impeccably set.

Honestly, this alone is so tempting, I could polish off a whole bowl of rice!

3. Abalone Suyuk & Abalone Porridge

At Haebok, the renowned abalone porridge spot in Haeundae, they prepare the abalone porridge right after you order, so it takes a little while for your food to arrive.

If you're pressed for time, booking ahead is a smart move.

We passed the time simply gazing out at the sea, letting our worries drift away. Honestly, time flew by faster than we expected!

And finally, our Bossam Suyuk has arrived!

Tender boiled pork slices and chewy abalone are beautifully arranged on a single plate.

A nourishing dish that combines savory richness with incredible umami – truly good for your body!

This is the Abalone Suyuk from Haebok, Haeundae's premium abalone restaurant, where the plump freshness of the abalone truly shines!

One last shot before the abalone porridge makes its grand entrance!

Kelp, Bossam, and Abalone! This is a 'Samhap' (three-ingredient combination) that's incredibly good for your health.

And here's the hearty and incredibly smooth Abalone Porridge from Haebok, a must-visit spot in Haeundae.

We saw quite a few visitors who came specifically just to savor this abalone porridge.

We were absolutely amazed by the rich and savory abalone innards, and how much abalone was packed into it – every spoonful offered endless chewy bites!

Even during our meal, several groups of international visitors arrived. It seems abalone porridge is already quite a hit among global travelers!

Even my Japanese friend makes sure to get abalone porridge when visiting Korea, showing just how popular Korea's nourishing dishes are becoming worldwide.

The table setting is so clean and elegant, it feels like being truly taken care of. It would be perfect for a family trip to Haeundae to enjoy a wonderful meal together!

Even though it's a single serving, the abalone porridge is surprisingly generous!

Enjoying a meal in this place, where the sky and sea blend in perfect harmony, truly brought a sense of peace to my mind.

Can you see how plump and firm the abalone looks?

Especially to gauge its freshness, you'd typically look at the innards first – and remarkably, there wasn't a hint of fishiness even in the innards!

The *suyuk* (boiled pork slices) was boiled to perfection, even the skin was incredibly tender, with absolutely no dryness!

And here's our feast for the day!

We enjoyed wrapping abalone, *suyuk*, and *saeujeot* (fermented shrimp paste) in refreshing *dasima ssam* (kelp wraps),

and, of course, in classic lettuce wraps too!

We even added *bossam* (boiled pork slices) to the abalone porridge, and then topped it with even more abalone! Talk about a luxurious meal!

And let me tell you, the *banchan* (side dishes) here were absolutely outstanding, easily rivalling those at a high-end *Hanjeongsik* (Korean full-course meal) restaurant!

I think I single-handedly devoured all the *yangnyeom gejang* (spicy marinated crab) myself, haha!

It was so incredibly good, you wouldn't even need to seek out a specialized *gejang* restaurant.

Can you believe the vibrant color of the abalone and its viscera from Haebok – truly the "ultimate" abalone experience?

Its freshness is undeniable just by looking at it!
